They played differently and looked a lot better with Holl/Johansson instead of Giveaway Gus. If there is ANY team willing to take Giveaway Gus - Take him! Good win and start to Holiday for the boys!! Happy T day to everyone,

But Petry had 7 and Johan had 2, so there is more to be desired.

The grind game is a better suited defense against faster teams, it seems. Reminds me of the team Euro that went to the final. They used a close checking grind game and had a fantastic counter punch when a give-away happened. But Detroit is lacking the counter punch.

Good to see the PP come back, now if only they could do better on the PK!

I don’t believe Lalonde is a very smart coach and we will soon see giveaways Gus back in lineup soon. In all reality he should never see an NHL ice again unless he is in the stands.

Don’t forget to add the phrase, “we want to see him get going and find his game”.

Great. So in NYI we win a 1-goal game (with EN) in which we were outshot and outplayed.

Now we win 2-1 (zero 5 on 5 goals) against a Flames teaming playing its 5th game in 9 nights and in the middle of a 7 in 12 nights stretch.

As a result, our coaching staff is safe. I guess I'll just wait for a 3 or 4 game losing streak in January or February before we finally make the inevitable change.

One sided reffing again. Calgary deserved their penalties but the stripes missed a couple on Detroit.

There are so many calls that could be automated. I’ve been able to be penalized for walking into the bowling lane since the 90s. Yeah, they’re part of the game, but Refs insert themselves or look the other way. Now that the sport is presented by a gambling site they may want to become consistent
