1. Ullmark - C+ (0.888 SV%, over 3 GAA but return was great)
2. Jensen - B+ (excellent D-man but the age & return issue)
3. Tarasenko - D+ (unwelcoming return)
4. Joseph - C+ (pure cap dump & we lost a 3rd)

Signings

1. Pinto - B- (1 goal 3 points total in 16GP)
2. Gaudette - A+
3. Ullmark - D+ (8.25M is a crazy cap hit but still....early)
4. Perron - F (0 points for 4M a year is unacceptable)
5. Amadio - D+
6. Gregor - C (acceptable but 1 goal in 19 games is not enough)
7. Soogard - N/A

Overall Staios hasn't done enough. I would give hiring Green in the D range as well. His reponses and personality do NOT win me over.

I'm still mystified we had to pay Tarasenko to play for another team. I would have just kept him. These gm's are still playing the Bowman playbook. There are no rules. You can just keep the asset and be happy with what he brings.

Brady Tkachuk is 23rd
Drake Batherson is 34th

After that, no one comes close. Giroux is outside top 100, Norris around 145th-150th. Sens have some star power but I have said for years, having Canadian impactful players matters as well - more importantly it's the depth that's failing this team

We talk about Heatley - Spezza - Alfie ... also put aside Chara, Redden... imagine these guys on Ottawa:

Jake Sanderson - Artem Zub
Anton Volchenkov - Chris Phillips
Tyler Kleven - Nick Jensen

Our defense needs guys like this. Up front guys like Chris Kelly, Antoine Vermette, Mike Fisher were amazing depth players that can play 2-way at a very high level

Those teams weren't good enough to win a cup either. So why dwell on the past.

On another note, if I were the management of the Detroit Red Wings, I would fire the current coaching staff and bring in Quennville as head coach, and hire Luke Richardson as an assistant (defense coach). ...... and before you all start wishing ......... Ottawa is not going to fire a staff they just hired and have to pay them 3.5 more years of salary. Richardson might be a nice addition ..... but where would you put him?

To fix the Ottawa defence .... I would trade Zub at some point (too injury prone to be counted on as a top 4 d-man). If he can't be traded, then slide him down to play with Kleven.

I would look to go and get a heavier playing right defenceman to play with Sanderson.
The trade piece going from Ottawa could be Giroux, Greig, or Pinto, or Amadio. Maybe look to the Utah ........ Michael Kesselring. Ottawa sends Josh Norris to Utah. Maybe add a sweetener to the deal ..... JBD if needed. Play Kesselring with Sanderson.

Then, once Zub is back, look to trade him for forward depth.

There is no chance they will fire a coach with 4 years left on his contract. We don't have that capability to keep a fired coach on the payroll for 4 more years.

Quenville is WAY passed his expiry date. Go do some tv or something.

Only Jack McBain has a better shot % than Adam Gaudette this year. 13 goals in his first 27 games. He is on pace for 39 goals (obviously not going to happen) but amazing
