How soon can you put in Blomqvist and have him think "this losing isn't on me" if the losing continues?

Like I say start him 2 weeks before the 4 Nations thing, and see how it is. Keep him down after that if it's looking awful.

lottery race is back on!

But in all seriousness, watching this same thing happen with the Steelers makes me want one or both of them to blow it up and tank to rebuild.

Who misses an NHL game because of a fender bender and your “fine”. This team’s a (frank)ing country club.

Interesting TIOPS article talking about teams have called about Karlsson. Also the potential of taking on larger cap hits to bring in some good prospects and draft capital. One team we have talked with about both Karlsson and taking on a bad contract is the Rangers

I am not happy about it either. He was the player who was mentioned.

Edit: personally the only way I consider taking him is if they took Jarry and/or Graves in a trade and still gave us picks and prospects

Looks like the Pens are whole tonight. DOC shouldn’t be in the lineup ever, but especially discouraging as a fan to see him have a jersey while everyone’s healthy. Dude sucks.

I like this #19 for Seattle. Good top six scorer and he kills penalties. Wish we could get a guy like that.

Lineup doesn’t matter if you continue to roll out jarry and Ned in net

I had to go out on a work call after the 2nd but I’m sure Larson felt just comfy cozy out there after cross checking the Pens captain to the ice.

That first goal was garbage, so yeah, Jarry sucks. Still... the 2nd and 3rd goals were complete breakdowns in front of Jarry. Oleksiak skating down Broadway unchallenged. The 3rd goal was just as bad with multiple guys getting beat. With losing all these late leads the last couple of years, it seems this team can't handle the other teams final push. Bottom line, they can't play 3 strong periods. I think we're bottom 5 now in goal differential with a 7 game road trip on tap. Things could get ugly from here.

From today's ESPN article: https://www.espn.com/nhl/...ppling-homestand-4-2-loss

"If I had the answer, I'd fix it," said Mike Sullivan, the NHL's second-longest tenured coach. "We simply have to do a better job (in our end) and that falls on me."

If I am the GM and this is what my coach says, then he is not the right man for the job. If he doesn't have the answer at this juncture, then he needs to be gone. As simple as that.

Of course, the Penguins, just like the Steelers, are happy with the status quo. As long as there are butts in seats and merch being sold, it's all fine.

To be fair, who has answers. It's hard to play a perfect game. Yes there were some breakdowns on the goals, but the team only gave up 17 shots last night. Goalie has to do something.

None whatsoever. When is Acciari going to fight someone? Still has as many fights in his Penguins career as Harkins has goals.

In reality, the Pens are just a turd team. Nothing more, nothing less. Plus a Country Club style locker room... which seems like a leadership issue. The vets do their own thing. I recently heard one of the visiting team announcers (OTT maybe - I always choose the visitors broadcast on ESPN+ when it's Pens games) say that Karlsson is uncoachable - he just does what he wants. Letang and Geno, as well. Philly and NYI are within 1 & 3 points and have 3 games at hand on. The Pens are gonna be at the bottom of the division, were they belong.

Sure they have an occasional "good" game, but those are super rare. When they win, it's usually a grind out, barely hanging on type of a game.

It's tank time. It should have been tank time all year. Not sure why people thought they should push for a playoff spot. It would not be a smart move, IMO.

Jarry placing on waivers at 2pm ... what took so long?

I also wanna see those trades that Yohe and others have been reporting on - everyone should be made available. Tank mode activated!
