I mean, what do we say? This is.....surprising, yet is it really? Yeah, we have some gaping holes (D, C...), but this team wasn't being deployed properly nor was there any flexibility in-game.

There should be NO doubt that Soderblom found his feet and deserves to stay. Trade Motte or waive him. The guy's becoming a wrecking machine. His reach and hand strength to hold the stick as he steals or poke-checks is amazing. He's legit. Has some work to do, but his skating is incredible for his size. Sending him down is the wrong move, from my GM seat.

Holl's hit n miss, with more miss. Chiarot's got issues....too careless and thinks he can drive o-zone play. Anyone know what the D looks like in GR? Who should we be watching now? ASP needs to be in NA. I don't encourage him starting on the Big Club, but he may - he's a juggernaught.

Kane. Yikes. I don't think anyone could foresee him playing the way he is. Re-sign him & Lyon NOW. Tank's got problems, you can see hesitation with every move he makes. He could be throwing in 40-50pts, but he's got to get his head straight. And listen, I LOVE the guy. He's always been one I watched, great player that devoid of confidence.

This is an amazing team. MAYBE SCPO-bound? Be nice to see, but honestly this isn't a deep enough team, yet. But, damn y'all. Is this fun to watch or what?!?!?!?!

Not a stellar game to allow the Kracken to get back in it and tie it up when down by 2 goals in the 3rd. It was good to see the Wings overcome the blind refs and their non-calls in this game. Seider and Chiarot were on the ice for 3 of their goals and Talbot had a SV% of .852. But all in all it was a good team effort to give T-Mac yet another win on his new coach record. And Kane gives this team a big edge if it comes down to a shootout.

I normally don't complain about the refs... but last night it was brutal. Just awful... the non-calls. Gotta give credit to Seattle's goalie... he was outstanding with some big saves. It was an ugly win but we'll take it.

Great to see Soderblom and Berggren potting some goals. Soderblom should absolutely stay in Detroit. If he keeps playing well it would be wise for Yzerman to extend him. The knock against Soderblom in GR was his inconsistency. After watching him play for a couple years... he seems to have finally turned the corner. We'll see if he can keep it going in Detroit. He really needs to keep up a strong forecheck and his value will keep growing. This team needs talented youth.

The reffing may have been ugly however that is the way they call the game come playoff season. It's good to see this NEW team overcome the calls/non-calls and come out with a win. This will do them well when they make the playoffs - which they WILL this year. I know it and more importantly they know it

A deserving win for sure.
Kane’s magic hands are simply dazzling.
The team bailed out the Goaltending for a change, TALBOT WAS BRUTAL apart from the one OT save that was shot directly at him.
Jeremy can you please tell me why Shine was called up ?
Surely there is more talent in Grand Rapids.

Shine’s situation is unique, and I’m an outsider on this one. He’s now signed his first NHL deal at 31 after playing exclusively for the Griffins. This, again, is a guess. https://griffinshockey.com/stats

In my opinion, he got signed to the NHL deal to slot into the bottom 6. If Lombardi hadn’t been limited in games (15 points in 20 games played) or Danielson were producing at a higher level (4 goals, 22 points in 42 games) they may have gotten a look. Watson has been fantastic for the team mentality and development. Danielson can be very creative but they need more at that level. This road trip was a bit of a shock. The latest win streak is a bit of a shock to be honest. It may be better for Danielson to get higher minutes/more reps in GR. Not sure on Watson not getting the call. He was at the AHL all star game but that can be subbed. I think for the role, Shine at 31 isn’t going to develop much more in the AHL. He’s a player they could sign, put through waivers if necessary etc. best guess

This seems random, but I started watching Rugby last year. The Six nations tournament started last weekend. Here’s what I love about the reffing. The refs are mic’d and you hear everything they say. When there’s a review, the ref makes a signal that looks like he’s drawing a box in the air. The replay he watches goes on the Jumbotron and the conversation is broadcast. This is used a lot on head contact, anything with a yellow or red card question etc. there is no consistency on the ice or in Toronto. If that system were implemented, it may change some things. Good luck though.

Shine is having the best season of his AHL career this year and is leading the team in scoring. He also adds some sandpaper / grit and doesn't have any problem dropping the gloves if needed. He's earned the call up without question above anyone in GR.
