Time to get Jarry back up here. Blomqvist shouldn't start another game.

That's debatable, but yeah, it doesn't seem like Philly has a direction.

He is a fairly good middle six forward who is proficient in the dirty areas... not a game changer, but would be a really nice add for a team looking for some sandpaper for their 3LW. |

Agreed. Why have Joel B helping us tank when Jarry can. Let JB get lots of starts in WBS. |

I wouldnt mind seeing Larsson come up and get some starts to see how he looks. But I agree, I definitely dont want Blomqvist just getting shelled in the NHL right now.
Larsson to the NHL.
Jarry to the ECHL.
Murashov to the AHL.

Never know....if Jarry was up he may have regained some form and possibly became tradeable....never know..and if he didnt, well, we're in same place we are now, anyway haha....Bit too late for that now, though, with the TDL like a week and a half away. |

Dubas is really getting lucky here heading into the trade deadline. In the East, there are 5 teams fighting for 2 spots, most of whom really want to get in. In the West its just two teams competing for the final spot but there are a lot of teams who know they need to get better still and add. I don't think there is a single team that is out there feeling like their team is about complete.
We have possibly the best forward available in Rackell. And in spite of his contract, Karlsson would be a huge add for some teams.
The one guy I'd be dangling out there that most will disagree with is Blomqvist. There are some teams that need goaltending depth at a low cost and he would add to their pipeline. Blomqvist would likely be an additive piece to a bigger trade and not the only piece if we did move him.
EDM - needs to be trading for Binnington, but it sounds like they are too cheap (dumb?). They might highly value Blomqvist as a backup to Skinner who has not been good.
CAR - Andersson is always injured and a UFA. Kochetkov is ok but they could probably use a second option and a low cost guy going into next year.
FLA - Knight has actually been decent, but he has a $4M hit this year and next, Blom would give them cap relief and is also a young goalie to take over after Bob retires.
NJD - They have Markstrom & Allen but both are old, Mark is often injured and Allen is UFA this year. They have Nemec sitting there in the AHL who could make for a good prospect for prospect trade that works for both teams.
VAN - I get the feeling with the Lankinen signing they are going to move on from Demko, another injury prone guy. Believe Blomqvist was drafted by Ruth & Alvin. Maybe there is interest and they do have some great prospects. |

Absolutely this shouldn't have any real impact on a team adding him for a run unless they are desperate for points immediately. Bunting isn't a true top 6 wing, but he's good on the PP and teams want that grit factor in the postseason. |

Jarry can't go to the ECHL since he is on an NhL contract. |

I agree it's a fantastic sellers market. They should be able to get a great return on Rackell and it makes Karlsson movable though that's still easier in the offseason.
Blomqvist though won't carry enough value to be worth it IMO. Goalie prospects have little value. But young goalies that are established backups in the NHL with upside can get a good return. So if you wanted to trade him, the time to do it would be next year.
I'm not convinced they should despite how tantalizing Murashov is and how Blomqvist is struggling a bit. Bit realistically with goalies you wait until they hit the NHL to get real value. Sure he could be a throw in now and maybe there's a deal but you're selling a little too early IMO. |

Since there is only like 7/8 days left until the deadline I'll offer this up:
Out of town on the noon balloon (to the LAKINGS):
Jarry (we cover 100% of his salary for this and next season)
Karlsson (we cover this years salary)
Glass (we cover this years salary)
On the Night Train (to the PENS):
Quinton Byfield
Logic:
Jarry is a coin flip (1 out of 3) he improves them. If not it's no loss for them.
Karlsson becomes the D replacing Doughty who's spending a load of IR time.
Glass is just pretty much just a warm body.
Byfield is hitting the rumor sites as they are having their doubts about him.
- - - - -
Byfield is 6'5, 220 and plays all three forward spots.
This could solve problems for both teams. |

I would be interested in adding Byfield if possible.
The Penguins can only retain salary on one player this year. There is a limit of three per team and the Pens are already retaining on Petry and Smith, though both expire this off-season clearing the way for the Pens to retain on 2 more players this off-season. |

Nieto cleared waivers since nobody but Grinder wanted him. According to Haase, they have a stall set up for Bennstrom. So looks like Nieto to minors, Bunting to IR, Boko activated, and Bennstrom recalled. |

Yeah, Im wanting to trade Blomqvist but assuming that another team will view him as having more value. Its not that I think he sucks, its being hopeful that we can get another new prospect and give Murashov another year.
I would do Blomqvist and a 2nd/3rd for a high upside prospect. Like Nemec in NJ, Mailloux in Montreal, Lekkermaki in Vancouver. |

He doesn’t have anything to prove in the AHL. Even if he did get shelled in the NHL, it’s probably better for his development then doing more of what he’s already done in the AHL. |

Strongly disagree with that. Goaltending is a confidence game. Playing behind a team that has given up and will just leave him hanging will do absolutely nothing for his long term development or his value as an emerging prospect. That is the type of thing that can ruin a goaltending prospect.
WBS has a decent team, get him in there starting some games and going on a playoff run where he will have a bit of pressure.

I’ve said it before but bunting would have been a great add when we were still a good team. There’s no point to Bunting on this team though |
