To improve the Wings PK, maybe trade for Evans and Armia.
Veleno and Fish and Cross Hanas and Gage Alexander for Evans and Armia. Habs do not want picks. Veleno is a Montreal lad and may do very well at home and is a cheaper 4th line option than what Evans would be next year. Fish is just a throw in for salary sake.
A thought for a C might be to acquire Max Domi. The Leafs may wish to give a big sweetener to offload his contract.
Max + Timmins (RD)and a minor pick for Motte and a 6th
Then the Leafs can get Laughton or pay the big price for Brayden Schenn (grade A prospect and 2 high picks) |

The CBJ was fortunate to win using their #2 in goal Thursday. Tomorrow will be a game played at a very high level that both teams desperately need. Detroit has the toughest schedule left, the CBJ has the 3rd toughest.
The next four for the CBJ after the Stadium game are all on the road: Bolts, Panthers, Rangers, Devils. Then they go home and play: Vegas, Rangers, Devils, Panthers.
They desperately need two tomorrow, more than the Wings do. Will be a great game.

Have no clue, have only heard the prices are high. PK is in really bad shape. I would still look at Lombardi before Domi. Just an opinion |

It’s great to have meaningful games that coincide with something like this. It seems like grinders can do well especially if the ice is wet. Low shots that goalies have trouble with. Looks like a good game shaping up |

If it’s true, the rumored asking price by STL for Schenn is 2 first round picks. No. That’s not where this club is. The accompanying rumor continues to be that teams want both brothers and no clue on what that price tag will look like. Talked about Philly not backing down from a 1st for Risto. The market is insane right now for those names. NYR did send Lindgren and Vesey to COL, not sure what the total return was yet. |

Included in the return to New York are forward Juuso Parssinen, defenseman Calvin de Haan, and draft picks. Peter Baugh of The Athletic adds (Twitter link) that the picks are the better of Carolina’s or New York’s (previously-acquired) second-round pick this year and the better of Colorado’s or the Van's fourth-round selection this season.

That trade makes sense, good pickup by Minnesota. The Rangers-Avs trade makes no sense, more like rearranging the deck-chairs on the Titanic than anything to help either team. |

Yzerman should inquire about Binnington in St. Louis. He could be an excellent bridge while Cossa is still developing. I think the price could be manageable and he is a true #1 goaltender this team hasn't had in a long time. Just food for thought.
Kyrou might be another good piece to add if the deal is right. He's still young and a productive center for the Blues... would fit in niceley on the 2nd line. He's only 26... and a very nice piece we could add.... IF the price is right. And that is a BIG if.... Then Compher would be good 3rd line center. |

Prices are really high on Binny, Kyrou and Schenn. Armstrong wants the moon, let someone else pay it. Better off to wait till summer.

It would be nuts not to at least inquire. Especially given the very good trade history Yzerman has with Armstrong. At least kick the tires... got nothing to lose. Anything can happen.

I have no idea who he’s talked to, but is always taking calls at games. The market prices are insane. Blues want 2 firsts for Schenn. Either the prices go down or the players stay put. Philly prices high too |

I always liked Nyquist when he played for the Red Wings. |

The red wings are doing another late season collapse. 2 back to back losses to Columbus is in inexcusable. Maybe time to switch the C to Raymond. Unless Larkin shows what he is made of like past captains. Yzerman, zetterberg and Lidstrom who when needed could put team on back when needed. The last game in Detroit in such an important game Larkin looked like he wanted the blue jackets to win. Come on Detroit we need this game. |

I’m posting this out of frustration, but if you were to ask any NHL player if they’d rather go into the corner with a legless, armless youth figure skater, or Mo Sieder, they would all choose Sieder as there’d be a far less chance of them getting hurt. Watch him during scrums when his teammates are getting cheap shots, he’ll very gently place his hand on the chest of the cheapshot artist as if to say “Don’t make me call the legless, armless youth figure skater to avenge my teammate.”
He could be a beast on the ice, but he chooses to be a gentle giant, smiling as his skill player teammates get practically beheaded. |
