Darn it, I missed another game. As ASL used to say, 3 years away from being 3 years away..

Hopefully there are some huge changes this off-season, starting with a new management team, this current 1 is the worst ever, which is sad, considering the many bad GM's this team has had.

Also, if they do not get rid of Pouty, I will not be supporting this team, but will be around to troll the heck out of the guzzlers.

Hockey purgatory,
The worst place to be.
Even Boston has fallen to 4th from the bottom and has a chance at a top prospect l.
Thanks Aqua

Thanks York. Bunch of drama queens in here this morning. Should be an interesting off season.

Some advice in the meantime, support your local junior team or the boys trying their asses off in Abbotsford. If you limit yourself and your Hockey fandom to the NHL you're missing out on some of the best parts of the sport.

Considering how much they overachieved last year, this just feels like a regression to the mean. Most of the team had career years and were for the most part able to avoid being injured a lot (save for Demko) and it helped them manage to go further than they really should have. It feels a lot like that one year at the start with Benning where they managed to make the playoffs because of the shutdown and play-in round and almost made it to the WCF by getting to game 7 of the second round then crashed the next year.

This team needs to really look at making major changes not just on the roster, but in all areas. Maybe it is time for a new management group, new coach, even a new core centered around just Hughes and build out from there. It all comes back to Aqua and if he can handle having the patience to take the 3-4 years it would take to build back up to a proper contender or if he'll insist on quick fixes for another flukey playoff round or two as a Wild Card holder.

Not typically. Roster moves were not great and Tocchet's coaching style had to shift a bit due the Miller garbage and lack of ability by MNGT to give him what he needed. Many factors at play

Yes the home record really has sunk the season. Blown leads & overall inconsistency & turmoil faced at home all added up. The PP being really lacklustre cost them many games using up energy on 5v5 adding to lower scoring production. Outside of Hughes & nice support from the bottom 6 there is lots of work to be done. The PK was improved & the D rebuilt.

The offseason needs many players to up their strength & conditioning imo. The top 6 alone was the achilles heal with the early D corp inability to be puck facilitators. Lastly a healthy Demko.

Tocchet's coaching style isn't suited for more than 1 season, he's good at getting a team to play at it's best for the first year and when he has the horses his system works, but he's essentially a more defensive AV that can't adjust his system to his team or his players. It's clear that without Hughes in the lineup and at his best, his systems don't work because his system is all about the transition game from the back end out.

I’d luv to support the WHL but it’s 1 hour to Kamloops or 1 3/4hrs to Kelowna. Trail Smoke Eaters when working there but that isn’t often. Vernon Vipers are a 1hr drive away.

I mostly agree on the high of last year & the low of this season. Somewhere in the middle is where they stand & should be a PO team. Without many prospects from years of trading picks & poor drafting it hurt any chance of sustainability. Here we are today with a late lottery pick again. Lacking top 6C production needs a major fix.

45 minutes to an hour to Vic from Sooke depending on traffic. Still make it to watch 10-15 games a year. The rest I watch on internet. My last 2 NHL games I attended were in Calgary and LA. I'm not putting a cent into the Canucks pockets at the moment. Not until they ice more Canadian talent.

I haven’t supported FA’s pockets in many years. If not ticket gifts or a jersey present it’s been nada. Slum lord family wealth will never profit from me.

As for more 🇨🇦’s I normally don’t subscribe to it but with the roster being so devoid of them I’ll agree.
