Well since Sweeney and Neely are still safe, what is the over/under on Sacco getting a new contract? Love how they keep throwing the same poop against the wall and hoping something sticks. Just stupid. The Jacobs family is a plague to this franchise.

I dont blame Jacobs this time. since the cap went in they've been spending to the limit. This is really on Sweeney, mediocre talent evaluation, repeatedly blaming the coach for his failure to bring in quality players, either by draft or free agency. What coach would even want to play here knowing he's either gonna get the blame and be fired, or sweeney finally does get fired and the new GM brings in his own coach.

unless the problem is Jacobs won't hire the scouts and talent evaluators that Sweeney really needs, then its on him.

It is on Sweeney and Neely. Thats why they should be let go. That responsibility falls to ownership.

I would much rather a new GM be present to do even a partial rebuild. There needs to be a new vision for this team.

Season is over. Looks like the Bruins have a top 5 pick (before the lottery). Here is my abbreviated breakdown.

If the Bruins score a top 2 pick in the lottery: Michael Misa or Matthew Schaefer (in that order). These should be the easiest picks.

If its possible to pick in the 3-4 range: James Hagens, Porter Martone (in that order)

Assuming we pick at the current spot or at #6 or #7: Anton Frondel, Jackson Smith, Caleb Desnoyers, Jack O'brien, Victor Eklund (by order of personal preference).

I am assuming with all of this that if the pick happens later, all of the suggestions for picking sooner will already be taken.

I think even if the worst happens and they pick later in the top 10, as long as Sweeney isnt completely hammered at the draft they should get a player that can play in 1-2 years. If its a top 4 pick the bruins could very likely have a player that makes the roster next year

Meh. I'm less interested this year. But since I live in Colorado, ill cheer for the Avs. The Landeskog comeback story is kinda neat.

Ill be watching games, but my focus is more towards looking at prospects

You still might end up with Hagens. He’s been falling in people’s minds, and to a lesser extent, Martone as well. Meanwhile, O’Brien and Desnoyers are on the rise. Not many draft guys agree on much after the two big prizes.

I wouldn’t be surprised by anything once Schaefer and Misa are off the board. Last year the madness started early, and if that happens again this year, I wouldn’t bat an eye.

Over in Flyerville, we’re wondering how it’ll shake out, too.

We will see. I have no doubt that if the Bruins pick after #2, Hagens will be there target if he is still on the board. No doubt in my mind it will happen that way. I also wouldn't mind the pick either.

Smith also intrigues me as a prospect. He reminds me of McAvoy at that age but better. Part of me wants to see a D man get taken so they can move on from McAvoy/Lindholm (or at least one of them). I dont see McAvoy as a true number one but would be a fantastic partner for a #1D man.

Looks like Sacco is in the short list to be head coach next year. No surprise

https://www.tsn.ca/nhl/bo...hing-candidates-1.2293714

He's aware that he'll part of the final group of coaches that we get down to because I think he's deserved that. Joe did a really, really good job."

Honestly Sacco has an overall losing record as a head coach. His system doesnt work even with players like Nathan MacKinnon. They need to clean house unless their goal is to tank all of next year.

Such an ugly end of season press conference. A stage full of man children getting offended by every question. Sick of this group. They all know they shouldn't have job. Living through the second coming of the Sinden days.

Yeah, Nick Goss wrote a pretty damning article about the performance of the dynamic duo over the last ten years (and today's presser).

And the whole narrative that Donny was thrown into it in 2015 is complete bullpoop! He was Chiarelli's (frank)ing assistant GM so had full awareness of what was going on. Let's not forget the Mitchell signing crap...the failure to sign Swayman to two years out of arbitration knowing full well you were going to move on from one of the two. Any one of those likely gets you fired if your best bud isn't the team president (who also should be fired). So sick of the BS out of this front office.

Saw an interesting post, can't remember where at the moment. Kinda changing my tune from fire Sweeney/Neely to Jacobs family needs to sell the team. They can keep the team in Boston or course, but they need new ownership too. I know it is highly unlikely to happen but (frank), the Jacobs family is honestly just a festering STD at this point.

I'm fine with that, well okay, all for it. That being said, if the Jacob's go, there is no way new ownership is keeping the management team so win-win! 😁

yeah, being in charge of the worst powerplay in the league made him an obvious choice to be the HC after Monty got F'd.
