Nice article Trevor! The offseason should be interesting!
Questions: Does Calgary offer Mitch Marner 12.5m+ x 7 if he goes to UFA? Who else do they go after with the cap space? Bennett? What UFA d-men should Conroy target?
I think Cooley is the backup pencilled in?
From about game 30 on after his tremendous start to the season, Rasmus Andersson was not a top3 defenceman, barely a 4th. At least from my perspective. I suspect there are stats to back that up? Is he moved around the draft?
What do all the upcoming RFA contracts look like? Does Klapka get a 1-way contract (I suspect so).
Would Conroy consider a Farabee buyout? (I would if it makes sense, guy was useless).
Stay tuned! GFG!

Marner would be a wild ride. So many of thr fans would revolt!
Cooley's second year is one-way, so I think it's his job to lose.
Bet Klapka is here to stay. Might be a hot take, but I could see him scoring 25 goals if he plays top six next season. |

Thanks Trev for the effort this season!!
Good things in store for CGY next year if they can be smart and add to the current culture. Wish the Canucks had that kind of effort and care but alas...we have 2 Canadians on the roster lol
Cheers!! |

Parekh looks like he’ll be able to play in the NHL next year. Was very impressed with his game, made some great plays for his first game.
Morton should replace Rooney, he’s more physical and chipped in as well.
Lots of centers ranked around the 15-22 range. Who do the Flames target? Jack Nesbitt, Brady Martin, Ben Kindel, Ivan Ryabkin, Cole Reschny? |

Reschny 7 goals, 13 assists in 8 games, outperforming Kindel, Yager etc. llLooks like a big game player. |

Anthony Mantha!
Now there's a name I haven't heard in a long, long while. A completely forgotten man.
Any chance he gets a PTO or signs another 1 year contract here?
I feel the worst for Zary this year. It was going so well early on. Love that Coronato has risen to the challenge and become almost an untouchable in terms of trade bait.
Conroy won't need to go Marner hunting-- even though he could afford to-- so stay the course and save your cap space, Flames.
If it were me in charge, I might overpay Dan Vladar a bit to stick around, if he's up for it. What a good soldier all year.
The 4 rookies acquitted themselves very well last night. The future looks bright, even with another "mushy middle" draft pick on the way.
Totally worth it to quash the desire to tank this year. Tankers are losers. Or Sabres. |

I would imagine garbage bag day happens in the next few and will be a wild one. Will be here for a breakdown of the drama. |

Crazy stats! Wow! Was very entertaining watching them play like that, could have been interesting if they had squeaked in. Where the hell was that 31 days before?
Going 0-3 vs Utah hurt the most. I like the Ducks young guns, they can play when they want to.

Crazy how a 5 minute lapse against the Ducks was their downfall in that run. |
