The question is: How does the CBJ keep the puck out of the net?
Nobody seems to think Jet is better than a #2 goalie, the current #1 and #2 goalies are awful to bad, to almost decent, to once in a while adequate. Does Tarasov get released, do you buy out Elvis, and if you do, who is available in the FA market (nothing) or by trade (almost nothing).
Everyone also thinks the D-corps needs upgraded. So who goes? Provorov is an FA, maybe or maybe not a liability on the defensive end, but fans want to keep him. Severson is untradable, is Fabbro really a #1 pair d-man, and worthy of a big(ger) new contract? Do you buy out Gudbranson, and release all the other marginal guys and bring in others?
So, I guess what I am saying is that the CBJ has a lot pf problems, and we have not even started talking about the offense, since this team needs more scoring, even if you think the team had a great offensive season. And, there are a load of 3rd and 4th line players that need to go and be replaced by something better.
