That’s a beauty!! As Don Cherry would say! Well written, and don’t let the door hit you on the way out, Reeves and MM.
As for Reeves comment, social media is ruthless, doesn’t matter where you are! Leafs fans are dedicated and care, and are everywhere! No team has that fan base! If it’s too much for you, yeah, please leave! |

Yup, making me wonder if Pacioretty gets resigned here now as well. |

I like this by Trevling.
A) They are not really losing anything
B) They got Thrun, who admittedly I know nothing about, but seems to have potential
C) Pezzetta replaces anything Reaves did
D) MESSAGE SENT for the rest to hear.

Also, a small win shaving 300K off of the cap, some more space to play with. |

Well, the nicest part is that it’s a fairly safe bet that either of those two will be Marlies this year. So either the leafs have a $1 mill 24 year old RFA who won’t be a cap hit at all since he doesn’t make over $1.15 million or they’d have a 38 year old UFA who would still be a $200K cap hit since he makes $1.35 million. |

Yep and can keep or let Thrun walk based on how he does with the Marlies. |

A 6’ 210lb fella so he’s got the right size for this leaf team… so like you said it’s about seeing if he’ll mesh with the style |

An underrated fact about this deal.

Reaves can protect the young stars on 🦈
We should give Cowan or Robertson a chance at top 6 winger. If it fails, add at trade deadline. No rush at the moment |

Looks like he was helping to coach the Detroit kids team at Brick tournament
He should sign with Red Wings, close to home |

Yeah I saw that recent reasoning… fair enough I suppose, Toronto is still close but I guess he’d be living at home if playing for the wings. That alone is a notable difference. |

As an outsider, I fail to see how this changes anything with regards to the dysfunction in Toronto.
Essentially, they traded away a player who was buried in the minors to a team who needs to chew up some cap space where he’ll probably get ample playing time because they’ll still be pretty terrible next year and that changes what, exactly?
Be nice or we’ll trade you? It sounds like for a good chunk of the players, it’s a welcome consequence. |
