HAH !! You guys really believe Bettman will let Bedard go to the BlueJackets ?? There's too much "behind the curtain" sleight of hand going on to completely trust the NHL lottery selection. Sounds like a conspiracy theory, but it's not all upfront.

Remember, Chicago, an original six team has a horse in the race. I'd be satisfied with a top-3 pick, top-2 would be ideal.

it's the CBJ blog. Let's be positive towards them. We don't really have proof of any lottery being fixed.

I'm still trying to get my head around how this team that overachieved last season has collapsed this season.

Injuries are part but not all of the problem, even though they lead the league in games lost to injury. I do not understand how so many defensive players that played last season have not shown improvement this season. I do not know why Elvis is in a massive slump even after being given the keys to the crease last year and doing a good job for the most part.

Now we are even seeing Johnny Hockey's game deteriorate, partly injury I assume, but partly just horrendous turnovers leading directly to goals. I feel sorry for the man, he is obviously a great player but has no supporting cast to help.

Could it simply be that the lack of quality centers is the main problem?

There is a mix of good players on this team, along with young players that show potential. The coaching staff is not the problem, nor is the front office IMO. But losing like they did to Ottawa, it makes no sense and bodes ill for the future.

I don’t believe, it’s just how the lottery balls currently favor at 20% odds. My gut is feeling we get Smith, Benson, or Yager at 4

Thought to be positive but that’s what I’m here to be. The voice.

I love all this.

The Gaudreau nostalgia might be part of it. Playing down to the superstar and let him do it all could be part of it.

The stopped development of the main roster talent could be part of it too.

Elvis and his grief.

Every player from the opening night roster being injured. Some now twice. That’s more than 23 injuries… idk how any team survives the entire roster being injured.

Lack of roster depth.

But one of the brightest futures in hockey
