Signing Huberdeau and Kadri to those big contracts were mistakes but I take it Tre had no choice to considering who he reports to. I don’t think Sutter is the problem, Kadri was a cancer in the Leafs room and Kad ri nixed that trade to Calgary. He only signed in Calgary for the money and no other team wanted him. This season has been a tire fire but hell maybe the Flames go 7-4 which I think would be good for a WC spot. Bottom line is the players should stop being little female doges. |

As someone who was sitting where the skirmish broke out I wouldn't say Byfield cheap shotted Kadri, he gave him a pretty light bump/shove and then Zadorov came in and did what he did. I was more disappointed no King dropped the gloves with him even though it would have been an ass beating still would have been nice to see anyone stick up for your #1 prospect.
As a Kings fan Flames seemed pretty flat to me, Kadri was going after Kempe the whole night and almost seemed to want to get kicked out on purpose.
Sutter to me fits into that Tortorella mode where they are good for 2-3 years max and then players revolt. |

Really appreciate the blog Trevor!
Question, say Huberdeau and Kadri refuse to show up to camp next year if Sutter is still coach......
Can the Flames cancel their contracts and walk away? Cause if that is the case I am bringing in Keenan and Babcock as assistant coaches over the summer.

Catch more flies with sugar than vinegar. It's likely those 2 play better with a motivational coach than a negative one. Is it easier to replace 2 stars or 1 coach? |

Kadri and Huberdeau came for the money and unfortunately money doesn't always buy loyalty.

Unfortunately, both parties would have to agree to a mutual termination of the contract in order for the cap to be fully off the hook. In that case, the player would have to clear unconditional waivers as well.
If Huberdeau or Kadri just said “No, I’ll just wait for a new coach.”, then we’re looking at a cap situation similar to Byfuglien in 2019.
Then there is what happened to Evander Kane. If the team were to catch either player in breach of his NHL Standard Player Contract and in violation of the AHL COVID-19 protocols — then there is already precedent to dump a seven million dollar per season agreement. That’s obviously a massive reach though. COVID protocol is essentially nothing now as well.
Just trade Huby to the Canadiens! St. Louis would get him believing in himself again. |

Huberdeau came because he was traded and had no trade protection in his deal. You mouth breathing flames fans really need a reality check. |

You do realize that the Kane contract termination was disputed and settled and it cost the Sharks 2.5M to last years cap to cover the difference in what he was owed to what the Oilers paid him right? So if anyone signed Hubby or Kadri, the Flames would be responsible to cover any difference between what they got paid to what they owed the players at minimum.

It would require reaching the same terms of settlement with the NHLPA. Depends on what skeleton they find in Huberdeau’s closet. Hah |

Let me get this straight. Because Huberdeau and his loud mouth agent agreed with Florida to a contract without a no trade protection clause that gives him the right to undermine the Flames team moral at a crucial time for the hockey club.
Wow. Talk about biting the hand that feeds you. |

If any of these guys are saying I won’t play for that coach and it can be proven that’s breach of contract so don’t trade them keep Sutter for the two more years and bench these cry baby millionaires!!! But that won’t happen to many soft little cry babies in this world to hold someone accountable to anything!!! |

Apparently Tre is in Bridgeport to watch Harvard play and try to sign Coronato this weekend if they are eliminated. |

Would you rather support a fan like 1230 or j-lo? Really tough decision for me. At least one hasn't paid to be here... but he might be the actually stupidest person to post on here. |

I hear Treliving is there to watch his game and try to get him signed if Harvard should lose. Man not getting him signed will be another blow to this team.
Who do the Flames target with their 1st round pick? |

Agree. With 32 teams in the league, being 45 oa in scoring is a pretty good pickup by Arizona. Cost nothing. |
