What is a trade for Karlsson gonna take? No salary retention. I know Karlsson has to approve but I'd guess he would for a relative pretender or certainly a contender. |

I'd be fine with Michkov, fits the timeline well since there will be some very lean years ahead. Hopefully NJ wins this round so there's 2 1sts in the '23 and '24 draft.
Trade EK if the return is worth it. See if you can trade Hertl to a center-needy team like Boston (pending PB and DK). Take on bad contracts for capital. Some down years coming up but it needs to happen. |

I would rather take Will Smith under 17 Team USA Centerman, We don't know if Michkov will even want to leave Russia & with the war & Putin who know's if he will be allowed to leave with Tensions between the USA & Russia.
Now If Carlson is still there then take him..

I'd be fine with him too. If for some reason Carlsson drops definitely take him. |

I think it's really hard to project - there are so few teams who could make it work and I'd imagine each one would value the upside/risk differently.
To me though, his value has never been higher in San Jose and now would be the time to make the move. |

How about a package like Granlund, Rutta, 2023 1st (14th), and 2024 1st? I'd prefer Petry over Rutta, but Petry has a 15 team NTC so not sure he would be open to SJ. |

I'd take that. Even throw in Carter if he could be convinced to waive. |

I'd send another pick at least. Even Pickering if they could take Carter, Granlund, and Petry. That's subtracting over $3m from the cap and at least on paper putting a healthy PIT roster into the postseason again. Carter is NOT an NHLer at this point in his career and Granlund a 4th liner. Petry still might have some value on the 2nd pair. |
