Glad they won but they need to do better in the first 2 periods of games. They might have outshot Mil in the 1st period but all their shots were from outside the slot while Mil were all inside the slot but 1. They got outshot badly in the 2nd period 16-6.

Need to do better in the first 2 periods and go to the hard areas to score if they hope to advance further.

I was actually impressed with the first, but the second they were dominated. Total reversal. Was happy to see Edvinsson get pretty physical, Soderblom as well. What I’m waiting to find out is the Milwaukee goalie situation now and Berggren was getting treated for something in post game. You’re right that they need a full game effort and the attempts weren’t strong. Was just glad to see them come out skating. Askarov getting put back in was a big mistake. That could have made whatever the issue is worse. Also glad to see the power play click, and the PK kill some 5 on 3. Some good stuff but it will take more. Completely agree there. My texting buddy was at the game, definitely looked like a good time for the fans in the 3rd

Like i said in the other thread, i didn't watch the game since i couldn't find a free live stream of it so i just followed the game center thing on the AHL site. Looking at where the shots were from in the 1st period everything was from outside the slot except for 1 shot and Milwaukee was the complete opposite with everything from inside the slot with 1 from the blueline.

Hopefully they come out next game flying and ready to go the hard areas to score some goals. A deep run would be great experience for the young guys and a big confidence boost heading into training camp next season.

Excellent! Saw that not only was Berggren being treated, but Eddy missed the last 7min or so; that's concerning. 'Course, from the write-ups, seems like whilst GRG started strong, they fell off and had to rely upon the rally hats to win......

From your positiin, or from anyone here, really: Is this reliance upon come-backs something that's resident in the GRG & DRW game scheme? I could buy it being a player or so having issues one either GRG or DRW, but seeing both teams struggle? Something's off.

I started podding a whilse back, passes the time on 6hr drives home every other weekend....and became an addiction.... Am hearing some grumbling about trading a higher draft position (possibly #15, for the right return) & Berggren for a bigger named named return, C or RD. Wondering, using this info, what folks here would do given the suppositions of #15 & Berggren; who do you go for?????

Just read a brief article on Vrana; "...substance abuse..." I REALLY hate that for him. Would like to see him heal and play the game again, kid was magic when he was on......

Wonder why they keep including Eddy in these rankings? Kid's an NHLer now, and for the forseeable future, not really a "prospect" This kinda shows the body of work that's been done to rebuild the entire system.....not just the Wings. Hopefully, some of those names hit the big-time.

Yeah, I went ahead and paid for the post season package last series. Not bad, but if you go per game it’s 8.99. The energy on ice was tangible in the first. Lots of post whistle stuff, good hits. The game center chart may not have done justice to how much more energy the team had out of the gate. The shots were more to the outside, but at least they were shooting. Last game had 10 combined in the first two. 12 in the first period was a step forward. Was a good watch. The 2nd was rough to watch for sure

The come from behind, not playing 60 minutes has for sure been GR’s MO. Good start. They were there and they were hitting. Drop off in the 2nd had them buried again. Cossa kept it close for them, and then Askarov’s injury after the tying goal with the power play clicking opened the door for the GWG. All 4 goals within 3:50. I think both Milwaukee goalies may be nursing something but you will never know until post season

Yeah, no clue on Eddy or Berggren still. The team packed up pretty quickly after the game. WOOD radio was trying to get interviews but having a tough time finding available players.

As for Vrana, yeah not good. I’d done some stories but the NHLPA keeps cocaine as a non banned substance. You can find articles going back to 2013 where “the NHL is considering banning it”. A few veterans did anonymous interviews with the Tribune. The new generations keep upping the ante with that and Molly (a form of X). Hudler drew national attention on a flight back overseas. He was asking for what the staff mistook as Coca Cola. This wasn’t a flight where there was a sales person. He ended up wrecking the beverage cart over it. That and a really bizarre pain killer highway behind the scenes. Once it gets out of control it’s hard to reset. Vegas as a team brought great attention to the league, as a city it is a nightmare in terms of what’s available and how easily a regular person can get ahold of it.

Cossa's been impressive. I know we won't see him on the big club for a bit, but give hime 2-3yrs, Auggie 1-2yrs to make GRG......Griffs could have a VERY dangerous G tandem. That leads me to: "How do we shore up G for the Wings for the next 3-4yrs?" I know that's a really long time, but developmentally, neither Cissa nor Auggie would be competitors for the Wings until then....generically speaking, of course.

Add G help to the list of things to keep us all up at night. So, is this the year that we trade some assets to bridge some gaps, or do we continue to draft amd trade away rostered guys to stockpile more picks? Make sense? Oh, and we need to get MUCH tougher, more physical. Overall.....

Going to be a VERY interesting off-season.

I assume Eddy is a full timer next year, but he hasn’t done a full year yet. There are some good things in the pipeline for sure. Thanks to H2 for posting that. Will touch on it after the series is done. Cossa starting to look more confident. We’re right at that point where the 2019 draft is turning 23. That used to be the time these kids would hit in the “overripe” era. We’re seeing 19 year old first rounders get a shot at moving up more. Augustine did well for the U.S. after his really strong freshman campaign at MSU. Danielson got promoted, but was a scratch last night. This wasn’t a good series for him in the 2 games he played coming straight from Portland’s elimination. Will be an interesting camp. Some remorse in VAN regarding Sandin-Pellikka as he started turning heads.

Maybe because he is still a prospect and not a full time NHLer. He is playing for GR now!

He’s barely played in the NHL. He’s a prospect.

So, by that logic, Berggren's a prospect as well?

Informative...... Didn't know if "prospect" was defined or shaped by the writer.....thanks for setting me straight......

Most writers clarify at the beginning of their piece or rankings. In this case Edvinsson would be considered a prospect by basically everyone even though he’s expected to “graduate” to NHLer next season by almost everyone as well.
