Huge York fan here.
CY or CC? I remember how hot so many of us were that we passed over CC twice. York still seems like the better pick, imo. He's still far from hitting his ceiling, too |

I mean if you evaluated that right now CC would be the obvious pick. We'll see once York gets more time... D takes longer |

And how do you know what his ceiling is? Maybe has hit it. At this point in their careers CC is the far superior player. Let's hope York develops into a solid top 4 defenseman |

If he can add a little bit more O, he will could cap out as a solid #2

they are dragging this trial out as a form of punishment imo - hello it's me 2050
No it's just the Canadien legal system. These guys should be suspended pending the court hearing and take the onus off the teams |

to me they should be allowed to play until proven guilty. |

I think York is already a solid player with room to grow. However I have doubts that he will rise to the level of being a legit top pairing NHL defenseman on his own merits.

I wonder if the nhlpa might have something to say about that? If it’s suspended with pay fine. |

I don't think the NHLPA would have any standing. There are clauses in every SPC to deal with issues like that.

They're all currently free agents. They're not entitled to any pay moving forward. |

Wouldn't that just be compounding the issue until it is resolved legally? Think, Wow they just let them keep playing even know they were found guilty or not guilty. Many peoples jobs would be lost in a scenario like that.
They are going the best route, but agree that they are in no rush with this case after they brushed it under the rug for a few years. |

you can hope, at 23 for sure he can grow and that should be the on the O side. Over simplification but if you look at the top 35 D by point this season, that number is around 42. If you look at goals it is 10, York landed 30 points and 10 goals. I think he has shown he can defend, as he hits his prime he should get better with his reads, positioning and fully fill out body wise, allowing him to use his body to protect the puck better. If you look at the top D by point again, about 2/3rds played on playoff teams, York played on the Flyers (no PP etc), it is not a stretch to think the Flyers O should get better with time, York getting better with them, I think with a good #1 you could see York being a solid #2, he is does not have 1 outstanding trait, but he is good at most things.

I think the mostly likely way for York to increase his point totals is on the PP. Personally I don't see him as a significant point producer on the PP. I don't see that talent in him. There is a difference between being a complimentary player, playing with a #1 versus being a #2 defenseman on your own merit.

can be true, but having the right partner raises your game, and it is still your game. You give York the right partner, we will be able to see his lid.

<< to me they should be allowed to play until proven guilty. >>
Even if allowed, how well would any of them play?
Especially for a goalie, his head must be 100% in the game.

I think thats a strech saying that , also curious if CC can stay healthy. CC right has topped out at a 65 point player. I would say york is comparable on D to a 65 point player, or close to it. Definately not far superior.
