Well, the reality of the situation is that it is Father's Day and the Sabres are doing nothing. We can talk about a guy that they might get in Martinook with 32 points but that seems like a waste of my time. The Hockey News was delivered to my house back in the day. it was a publication that took a news article from Jim Kelley that was already in the paper. Are we supposed to covet what is written at this point when it never comes to fruition? When there is something to report I will do so. I actually really like your insight 36. Kaleta was a Buffalonian and liked legos. Scored one nice goal against the Rangers at Madison Square Garden if I remember.

That would be interesting if Mitts comes in at 5mill Avv.

If the Sabres thought they could extend Casey at $5M per for a middle length term, would they have traded him?

I know my answer to that.

Curious what others think.

If they knew and still did, Adams would be a idiot. But I know that Mitts was confused on what was happening about a month before the TDL because of No talk. Be surprised if that was the number Mitts said after Adams finally had a Conversation.

Pretty confident in one poster here who will say yes, and his name is not Boss.

We know Adams had been looking for a d-man for quite some time.

I think he still makes the trade tbh.

Tage and Cozens locked up long term and prospects coming out the ying yang.

You said it, even if they retained Casey he was just going to be a 2-3 year bridge to someone else regardless

You wouldn't have extended Casey for 4 to 5 seasons at $5M per?

Prospects coming out the Ying yang, but we don't know if any can play C.

I absolutely would.

I also see why he made the trade for Byram although it took Mitts to do it.

Byram at his peak is absolutely worth more than Casey at his, just comes with more risk.

OK, well if he does down the line and Caesy keeps producing. Mitts becomes a fabulous trade piece 2 or 3 years down the line.

It is exactly what they'd kill to add this offseason.

Think we all know the deal happened because they couldn't get him for that.

Well maybe if they didn't wait so long, didn't even talk with him till about a month before the TDL.
