Way to fence sit on Laine trade idea.

I think Zegras is also an issue, I'd pass on that.

My hope is that HuGo have identified the player they want and make a decent trade for him (hopefully using some of those defense prospects).

As for #5, the more I think about it, Demidov is the guy the Habs probably hope falls to #5, even with all the talk of Lidstrom (despite potential back issues) .

Also, lots of whispers about Catton at #5, lately.

Gonna be fun to see what happens.

Good read BS.

If Demidov is available at 5, it’s a steal.

I would take a chance on Laine but the price needs to be low and his personal problems off ice might not be compatible with mtl night life

Cost is likely way too prohibitive, along with missing most of his heart….

Catton could be a stud too. Just a bit small and I wonder about his killer instinct. Probably a maturity matter on both counts. Could be a star for sure.

Thanks WB

It’s highly unlikely he makes it to MTL at 5 but if he’s there it feels like Hughes should be sprinting to the podium with a Demidov jersey in hand.

Laine I think is obv a really good player, just seems to have the same issues on multiple teams now: attitude and injuries. If the cost is a few prospects and non 1st rdrs then I’m way more interested. Feels like it won’t be though.

His substance abuse issues are most probably responsible for the rest of his issues.

Properly motivated, he could be great for this team

He doesn't have substance abuse issues. His time in the Players Assistance Program was for mental health issues from dealing with his fathers death.

All of that lead to depression and alcohol abuse.
