Big week coming up. I posted this in the last blog.
This from Dave Pagnotta's column at The Fourth Period.
At least eight teams have expressed serious interest in Zegras, including the Chicago Blackhawks, New York Rangers, Montreal Canadiens, Philadelphia Flyers, Ottawa Senators, Nashville Predators, Calgary Flames and Buffalo Sabres, and I believe other clubs have also been in the mix.
Regarding the specific asking price, it varies team-by-team and so far, nobody will elaborate on the specific demands aside from emphasizing it’s a “big price.”
...
Chicago is another team I’m keeping my eye on this week. The Blackhawks are looking to add a top-line winger and have a few irons in the fire, beyond interest in Zegras.

Thanks Boiler! In the rumor mill my guess is the Hawks will be linked to quite a few players.

All things being equal, a good RH defenseman has more value than a good forward. Now the question is, are Levshunov and Demidov equal, not according to most here, as Demidov seems to be getting a lot of love. I’m okay with whomever KD drafts, either way they should get a nice asset for the core. Also, I would not be surprised if both Allan and Phillips are moved this week, it really depends on what FA Dman they have had discussions with and they are signing on 7/1. |

Appears most are dismissing Demidov's leg injuries, but Lindstrom became a do not touch because of his back

Glad you weren’t in charge of the Toews or kane drafts. |

He’s right, if there’s a number one defenseman in the draft and you don’t have one it’s a direction you have to really consider. Especially considering that Levshunov is BPA, after Celebrini, on many draft lists.
Not sure what the Toews or Kane drafts have to do with it? |

Lucky for the Hawks it’s only us making these predictions. I’m sure the Hawks have medical evaluations on every draft prospect. |

Absolutely nothing. Especially when Kane was drafted. The debate was between him, JVR and Turris at the time. |

The explanation why either or both Allen and Phillips is shipped out will be interesting. I have some thoughts BUT I am not going to dangle my thoughts here since I have not seen enough or read enough about their development. Specificly, the next stage of development
We have read how RIchardson liked Allen's make up, calling him a hockey player (hard nosed). We know that Phillips has the tool set but it takes more than just raw skill. Mr Richochet will be all over any change of address for Phillips
Two defensemen from.Providence could be signed BTW if deemed worthy |

Richardson called Reese Johnson a hockey player also, and he is not being resigned.

Not the same, but 2 knee injuries and an ankle injury in the same year, and concerns about his skating stride would at least give me a pause for concern.

Agreed. If there are any rumours of a player or pick being available then I expect the Blackhawks to be listed as an interested party. If KD makes a move this week I expect it will be something totally unexpected, like the deal with the Islanders. Historically, most deals are done on the day of the draft, so I wouldn't expect anything to happen until a little closer to Friday.

Im taking the defenseman if he truely is a number one defenseman
He will have a bigger impact on the team in the playoffs playing 25 plus minutes a game.
Still waiting on a comparison of his game to a current nhl player
The above changes if Demidov can play center and I believe he is closer to 6' 1" tall
I think Bedard ends up on wing due to his size and the physical nature of playoff hockey |

Just in case there's no activity, have the Stan napping image updated with KFC's face. |

If I were a betting man, I’d say Darth had that one the moment KFC’s name was gaining traction as our next possible GM.
As long as we’re making requests from him though, could we also see Unicorn riding, rainbow’s originating from his hands KFC too, please? |

I'm more worried about the Cam Barker and Marko Dano drafts not that we picked Dano but were sure he was "can't miss." |
