My son is a huge Bruins fan so we watch a lot of B's hockey. I don't have a problem with this deal. Is it a gamble? What deal isn't. We live in Ottawa so we see the Sens handing out these huge deals to Brady, Tim, Sandy all on a very small sample size. I think Swayman has supremely benefitted from the tandem experience of working with Ullmark...seeing how to be a good NHL goalie day-to-day. He seems like smart kid and a determined one. I hope this ages well for the Bruins. I wouldn't start him tonight though. Don't need a torn groin or something else in game one. Get him up to speed heck send him to the A for a game or 2.

Congrats on the Hockey Show nod Ty. Well deserved. Looking forward to tuning in.

Going to be interesting to see the depth scoring this year. I am willing to bet they will need to add a bottom six scorer at the minimum by the deadline. Maybe a top six RW for the second line if Geekie doesn't pan out.

TJ in limbo? Or are we in another Heinen situation where he gets a contract a few games into the season?

Suspect it's money thing right now just like last year. Suspect he will eventually get a deal once things shake out...

With $145000 in cap space available, I believe thats why TJ is not signed. Looking at the roster I'm not sure its fixable. Unfortunate as I think he would have been a good piece to move up and down the lineup in case of injry

Just curious that they havent released him yet. Wondering if they might make room for him after a few games.

they're painted into a cap corner, this is the roster without moving a Coyle or Carlo. I'm OK with that though.

I don't think anyone is clamoring to sign Tyler Johnson. Nice depth player at this stage of his career. It's an 82 game season and someone will ultimately get hurt. Hopefully they can keep him around for a rainy day. If not, whatever.

I am curious to see how the secondary scoring goes this year. Team is definitely bigger though.

Nah. More curious if they will. He really isnt needed at this point but as you said, you never know with injuries.

Nah, they can free up another $775k by moving Tufte or Koepke (and one of them will eventually) down to Providence. He'll be signed before too long.

Of course it doesn't help that $1.3M is dead weight for final payoff for buying out Riley.

He hasn't been great but our D has sucked. So who's going to tell me McAvoy is an elite 1D? Sweeney did a good job getting another bunch of 4th liners/AHL players.
Just one game but this could be a very long season. Not a single d-man impressed me tonight. (not that the forwards did anything either).

Korpisalo sucked in that one. Two savable shots he allowed in. Difference between him and Swayman is at least one point in that game.

Good thing we signed Swayman.

What a terrible start to the season.

17 turnovers? Oh my!

I know I'm overreacting and it was just one game...but it was one very bad game. Hopefully they can get things together cause if last night is an indication of things to come, I may have to buy several TV sets this season.

Panthers live rent free in the Bruins heads right now. Bruins just lose all composure against that team.

Right there with you. At one point it looked as if the B's settled and were establishing their game. Then Korpisalo struck again.

I believe as the season rolls on he will improve but man, that's a low benchmark.

Look on the bright side, it should be easy to improve on.
