Thanks Zach for writing these blogs the past couple of years. Good luck with your future endeavors.

Just a personal comment, but I have a feeling that this whole HockeyBuzzz site will be history soon. Long time bloggers Mike Augello (Leafs) and Bill Meltzer (Flyers) also resigned their positions earlier this week. They cited their untenable workload here the past month as they worked with Ek as executives keeping this site going.

That would be unfortunate. As goofy as this place is at times I do enjoy the forum and ability to connect with other Hawk fans, especially as one living in Wing country.

Thanks Zach. Sorry to hear you are moving on but appreciate you picking up the torch and keeping the conversations going on here the last few years.

Best of luck in all your future endeavors and as always Go Hawks!

Congrats on the promotion at work!

Thanks for the effort you put in here, always enjoyed your stuff!

If hockeybuzz is going down the sh!tter that really sucks.

Does anyone have a backup site/blog/whatever where most/some of us can go?

Damn. Seems difficult to secure and maintain writing talent here in the past year or so. Thanks Zach for your efforts here. Congrats on the promotion.

Re the Hawks: I think this is the first "must-win" for them in a long time. They haven't really played well in front of the home fans yet (aside from beating SJ). This would be three wins in a row and they could exorcise the Patrick Kane effect if at least for an evening. I'd love for them to just take this game over and leave little doubt. Fingers crossed.

Patrick Kane on soaking in his second return to Chicago: “Last year we didn't have the morning skate, so just coming in here and being on the ice in the morning, [wearing a] different jersey and looking around at all the banners and the building in general, how many great memories were here and how many times you were out there for morning skate donning that Blackhawks logo. It was a great run. I'll never forget my years here in the city of Chicago and the fans and the people and everyone that was a part of it. Always cherish the chance to come back here, whether it's in the summer and seeing different people, or coming back and playing and coming to this rink. It's pretty special.”

Must be nice for him to get a chance to play in a city/building of a storied original 6 team that doesn't suck. Boo Wings!!! I hope we run them over in this one.

Last year was rooting for a Kane show and got exactly what I wanted. This year, I still have the unrealistic dream of competing for a playoff spot. Detroit Sucks!

This site is headed for the same fate as an NHL team in Arizona and while none of the bloggers are stating it, I STRONGLY suspect the reasoning is the same in both cases; poor leadership.

I've been reaching out to people that run other hockey forums whether on podcasts or also on hockey sites asking about this option. Cap Friendly had a huge following too and they obviously ended recently. SB Nation stopped being viable a few years ago. There is only Reddit right now and I know the market has more demand to have other NHL/hockey forums. Just need someone to set it up.

They got purchased. They didn't really end. There are a few local Blackhawks sites that have a somewhat loyal following, but nothing quite as extensive as this. I'm sure it isn't all that difficult to set up a website anymore, but the actual operation and maintenance of it is likely not trivial.

The fan forum component ended. They were purchased by the Capitals. There's an SB Nation site for Penguins as well. I'm talking abroad form for all NHL fans. There has to be an initial draw like cap friendly had with access to other tools that appeal to people for the forum. Otherwise they can just go to Reddit team forums.

Looks like CapWages is trying to replace it. it's not fully formed yet, but it looks almost identical (minus about 35% of the features). Fully agree that you need to draw people into a full league forum to get something like this.

You think Kaner whispered to Bedard as he was on his way to the box, "not this time grasshopper"?

That's rough 1.5 seconds left wings scored. 2 fortunate bounces there equals 1 goal.

Don't know the fancies but the Hawks look good to me. Offensively challenged but everything else is fun.... Kaiser looks really good. Great reads.......... Atta boy Foligno/Bert.

Can someone explain the Hawks defensive pairings rotations? Seems each shift is a different pairing.

Phillips couldn't get off in 2nd period long change, long shift, goes from RD to cover LD and Larkin blows by him.

Was just thinking how well the two rookies, Phillips on his off side, were playing.
