Fabbro is at $2.5M and would take up all the Wings cap space and Husso would have to be returned to GR for a roster spot. |

Holl can go back down and send Motte although I’d gamble on sending Gus. No love lost. Husso is a temp. No game no emergency |

Holl seems to OK now........ There is a reason Fabbro is on waivers, if he is the worst Pred on D why would we want him? Preds have plenty of cap space, so he is not a cap casualty.
I know I wanted to take a flyer on him this summer, but he may be more trouble now than he is worth.
But yeah, the Wings could send Holl down and take a flyer on Fabbro. Maybe the shake-up would help the rest of the overly complacent D core. |

Something is really wrong in Nash. For all the improvements and $ they are struggling. We’ve seen “rumor” that Trotz make take the bench. They are frustrated for sure. But compare their “worst” to our core. Probably worth the risk |

If LaLonde was offered any goalie, past or present, whether Roy, Brodeur, Hasek, Dryden, or Plante, or a current goalie like Shesterkin, Bobrovsky or Vasilevskiy, he would absolutely reject every single one of them in favor of Husso. If Husso has air in his lungs, he’ll be LaLonde’s #1. If just 2 of 206 bones in his body are in one piece, Husso is his #1. If his level of consciousness exceeds .001%, Husso is his #1.
No matter how well other goalies play, no matter how bad Husso plays, no matter how many goals he gives up, no matter how many games he loses, if LaLonde is the coach, Husso is his #1 for all eternity.
Sadly, I made a similar post last year. |

Fun Fact of the night: The Ranger’s 4th goal was against a better goalie than their first three. |

I need to apologize to all of you. I was in the hospital most of the afternoon. I didn’t get settled at home until after 10. I didn’t cover the game and am trying to get in a position where I can sleep.
I apologize for dropping the ball on this one |

I don't know much about advanced stats or analytics, but i'd be willing to bet his numbers for those are probably better than Chiarot, Gustafsson, Petry and even Johansson...maybe even Holl but i'm not sure about him. Only Seider, Edvinsson and Holl were not minus players on the season, although that might have changed with the game tonight. |

Fabbro is a bottom pairing guy that is being dumped for non-cap reasons on a team that has lost more than the Wings. And his only redeeming value is he is a RS and still young and may be better with a change of scenery. Right now he is a project. But the Wings can handle his cap hit and roster spot by sending either Holl or Husso down. This is a gamble and may just add another bottom pairing D-men to "a team full of bottom pairing D-men" .....your quote. |

I really do not fault Husso on the outcome of this game, for one of the 1st times in the past 2 seasons. The inability to score on NYR and Quick is the reason for defeat. But this game was the best effort by the Wings by far this season! The Wings out chanced them and outshot them by a wide margin, the Red Wings, who trailed 1-0 after the first period, peppered the Rangers' net most of the second period with 19 shots on goal. Patrick Kane and Dylan Larkin had shots clang off the goal post. Ther was one more post shot by Seider somewhere in the game. Yeah, close but no cigar.....but my point is if this effort can be in most games this season, they should handily win more than lose. |

Chiarot REL DFF% -14.20
REL CF% -12.20
Petry -4.20
-7.90
Gus -3.20
1.70
Johansson -3.80
-2.90
Fabbro 8.90
1.40
Seider, Edvinsson and Holl all have positive numbers for those. Like i said, i don't know much about advanced stats (maybe someone who really knows these stats could provide more details and information) but Fabbro seems to be a positive on a bad team unless i'm all wrong and the negatives are a good thing. |

I don’t know who keeps making the decisions on Husso and Gustafson as 95 % of the people on here are in agreement that Husso is junk and Gustafson is not an nhl calibre defenceman. Whoever keeps throwing these guys on ice needs to be fired. Whether that be Yzerman or Lalonde |
