Thanks for your efforts NYN, I appreciate your time and effort keeping us rolling with new blogs. Nice win for the Canucks, as I said in the last blog, the team isn't even near healthy (Miller is also banged up) but they've just gotta stay with it until everyone comes back and they hopefully trade for another puck-moving defenseman.
Crosby to the Canucks...wouldn't that be sweet!! Oh, Calgary is a joke of a franchise and a city...#mickeymousefranchise |

Impressed with Brännström, hope he keeps it going. Guy can play both sides. |

Thanks Yorksie. Excellent recap. Now if they could get their legs going in the 1st period that would be fantastic. Great bounce back by Lankinen. |

I mean he doesn't have anything else left to accomplish really. He brought gold to Vancouver, maybe he can bring the cup. Would truly be a another feather in cap. Maybe he's competitive enough with all this attention to Ovi and the goal record. Obvious Pittsburgh connection - half our staff and players were penguins. Keep Quinn as captain and bring him in to try and get it done within next 2 years ... one can dream! |

York Newbury: Canucks Win Against Flames - York Newbury
Thanks NYN, I appreciate the effort you go through to keep us up to date and entertained.
Canucks need to get on a roll at home, need much more intensity in the 1st period, and personally I would like more physicality from more players. Really liked Pettersson’s game last night, that reverse check on Barrie was awesome. |

What? No love for the Goaltending?
Yeah, it looks like Petey is waking up from his slumber. Not surprisingly the PP is as well.
Lekkerimaki didn't look out of place either, but as with all young players can he keep it going with some consistency. He couldn't quite find that soft spot in the bumper on the PP but I think that will come with reps. |

Canucks started slow but finished strong. Lekker had a good game, lots of chances to score. He’s a great addition to the top 6. |

I thought Lanky played well, he was a fantastic pickup by Allvin, the problem I have with Lanky is the lackadaisical defending in front of him. But a duo of Demko and Lankinen could be just what the defence needs, solid goaltending. |

Thanks NYN.
I appreciate you big dawg.
Haven't been able to watch many games live here, but have been following along.
I like the thought of what the team looks like if/when JTM, Boeser, Joshua and Demko get healthy and ramp up.
Hope Lekkerimaki can stick, having another top 6 winger makes a big difference depth wise.
Would be interesting to see where they all fill in.
Suter-JTM-Boeser
Debrusk-Pettersson-Lekker
Joshua-Raty-Garland
Heinen-Blueger-Sherwood
Hoglander
Or try again to drop Suter to 3c and put Hoglander on the top line LW and let Raty sit.

I actually didn't want them to sign Lankinen. Turns out I know jack squat. Perfect pickup to compliment Demko's recovery.
The breakouts are causing a lot of grief. They can't exit the zone cleanly and there are still a ton of giveaways along the boards. They clean that up and defense gets a lot easier. |

The goaltending was solid both ways last night. Canucks looked stronger and still had a tight game. But Lankinen was a difference maker in front of a more dominant team. Always tough when that goes the other way, but it was a good showing for the whole team last night. |

Would be nice to see a healthy roster. Hard choices on who to play are always better to have.
However, JL will have to produce to stick. He’s probably up only until Boeser is back. RT mentioned after the game JL can learn from Boeser when he’s back. Perhaps that is signaling a long leash and play then with Petey. |

Thanks NYN.
Now is the test of consistency over the home stand. Would be nice to see Dak back to add some juice.
JL isn’t ready to replace Boeser so let’s hope he recovers soon. The Canucks need a surging top 6 group to get back into the upper echelons.
Good thing Lankinen has kept them close and within reach. Demko being back would finally give Lankinen a needed rest as he’s going to burn out at this pace. |

Thank you. Nice to see Petersson stepping up with Boeser out and Lankinen back on form after the EDM game. Hoping for a full 60 vs NYI tonight. |
