Another good recap, thanks NYN! I watched the first period, what a mess, they simply cannot play a run & gun style of hockey trading scoring chances with other teams, they're not skilled or fast enough. The absence of Miller is glaring when you watch them play, outside of Elias Pettersson and Quinn Hughes they are really void of highly skilled offensive players. Hopefully he's back sooner than later. |

Got through 2 periods last night, the 1st was bad, the 2nd was a fair amount of turnovers in the defensive zone, must have turned it up in the 3rd.
Is this a classic case of playing down to the competition, or is this team really not that good.
Looking forward to watching some of the games once the competition gets better, and those uniforms suck |

Nope...they would be somewhat tolerable if they turned down the volume on the yellow. |

Plus Suter having a career year, good for him, a solid player. |

EK up to his old self again...
"The Rangers clearly moved Trouba to get in fully on JT Miller who has fallen out a favor in the Vancouver big time after confrontations with Rick Tocchet.
No, the Rangers are not done. I am still hearing Kakko, a prospect and a pick to Vancouver" |

Dude those UNI's are killer. How do you not think of 1994 when you see those so well done. Tocchet will have them clean up this first period starts it won't last. I mean even Boeser said their first period was unacceptable lol... |

Really hope that is not the case. We need an equivalent player coming back no? Why not solve the Miller problem here instead of just moving the problem around>? |

“after last night #Canucks are in the top 10 in #NHL in both power play & penalty kill
PP: 24.0% (10th)
PK: 81.6% (9th)
wasn't *that* long ago team was 32nd on the PK, so that's been a huge area of growth over past couple of seasons” |

At least not to the Rangers, not a good fit. I don't care if he's traded, hell I don't care if Petey's traded, as long as the return makes the team better and deeper. The crest on the front is more important than the names on the back. |

Agree with this technically. Would just like a good return back plus if the team keeps winning with Miller out of the line up long term it says alot about this current core of players. Which is impressive. Losing what Miller brings sucks but it is all replaceable in the long run. |

Their competition, or lack of, as Reuby correctly points out, has been somewhat substandard. The rubber is about to hit the road the next five games when they play Tampa, St. Louis, Florida, Boston and Colorado. |

Yep a larger test is coming hitting the meaty part of the season here. Where last year teams spoke of the Canucks tenacity playing against them it has faded a bit this year. But I also attribute that to swapping out 6-7 roster players too will take time for Tocchet to work it all in IMO. |

Sure would be nice if there was some truth to the possible Hogz/Sillinger rumour , he looks good , and would fit nice on our team |

Sillinger looks amazing, however the return wouldn't be just Hogy the way he is playing. So unless your willing to part with other assets, I think CBJ says here's a 4th rd pick for Hogy. |

Or, Tocchet could use Hogs properly and put him a position to succeed which would be nice. With Miller out this is also possible. But the doghouse it is for Hogs and a potential trade. After Hogs' last two seasons in Van he should be trending upwards not backwards IMO. |

His deployment is a result of his work ethic and not doing the little things Tocc is looking for. Last night he was using his speed, hard on the forecheck but then he takes another o zone penalty. His inconsistent play doesn't warrant a promotion, he needs to be better. |

Fair points of course. I just feel his deployment and TOI could be handled better. Getting adjusted to different line mates this year too for Hogs is a factor plus he'll never succeed being buried in the bottom 6. I get it, you have to earn top 6 minutes and all but he also needs help. 25 even strength goals (to me) last year proves he is ready for more if utilized properly IMO. |

For sure there would be more involved to a potential trade, but one can dream

York Newbury: Canucks Struggle but Win - York Newbury
Thanks NYN
I really get a chuckle when I watch the game around 9pm, finishing around 11+, then come read the comments here, absolutely hilarious stuff.
I’m pretty sure teams win and lose throughout the season in many different ways, this team is no exception. Good come back win, exceptional goaltending, hope Lankinen plays tomorrow and Demko Tuesday. |

I heard mgmt is waiting to move Hoglander until after the T Swift concerts. He’s got tix and is a pretty big swiftie. Wouldn’t be right to move him beforehand. |
