one additional question: 9) how to watch this awful team (and an awesome one - knicks) with optimum dropping msg?

so (frank)ing annoying

edit: seems optimum customer support folks are well prepared for this. i called, and they offered me $60 for two months of the gotham app or fubo to watch while this get resolved. not ideal, but will hold under until i probably switch to verizon

Lavy isn’t getting fired, maybe after the season and if Drury has made it this far, he unfortunately isn’t going anywhere either.

Vesey Carrick Uro Jones Borgen Smith Lindgren should all 100% be traded to the highest bidder at the deadline.

Kreider if the price is right, same with Fox and Panarin and 50% retained should be considered to maximize the return.

Unlikely, but before the mistake becomes permanent I’d consider trading Shesty also.

I don’t think Miller Schneider Chytil (bc of perceived trade value) should be traded.

And Cuylle Berard Edstrom Rempe Trocheck Laf Mancini should be kept

At this time, questions may be more important than answers. Jan offered up a great list to start. So, who is on the list of players that should not be moved?

Drury has badly mangled the Rangers' roster image. He has tarnished the image of some really valuable pieces. He has acted irresponsibly.

I use DTV - really good interface but the product is expensive because you are forced to take their “choice “ package to get to be eligible to pay an additional)17.99 for regional sports package that gives you MSG.

I gave Fubo a try this month - they are 1/2 the price and offered 1 week free and $15 for the subsequent month. I hate it - continuously get the streaming wheel- have to reload and hard to jump back and forth ( to knicks) without a reload

Im sticking with DTV

I have Direct TV. Refused to give Dolan money for Cablevision when we moved into the house in 1997. Some weather related issues when bad rain or snow, but been pretty happy.

The most frustrating part of DTV is their temporary price reductions (eg: $10 off a month for x number of months) so you are continuously having to call their retention department to renegotiate their price! Just charge the right price from the beginning and save your customers the irritations!

I think this is very likely. That gets them a first rder +. Teams aren’t willing to trade firsts yet or it may have happen by now. I think he’s been feeling the same way Trouba did where he’s about given up on the organization and shows on the ice

They aren’t trading Shesty. If they did that means they’ve basically written another letter. They will retool the roster with him as the foundation. Get him a better defense and he will be better. He’s all alone back there and will probably deserve 15 mill a year playing behind them til further notice until the d corp improves

I know you tho, with every goal he gives up you’ll be posting, “there is our 12 million goalie not making a save” blah blah blah

Shesty is one of the best in the game. Is/was one of my favorite players on the team bc of how good he is and the compete level he plays with/every once in a while gets involved in the scrums. Love that from him/players in general. With that being said, I don’t think you can win with a $12 million goalie. We saw it during the Hank era, always fighting for that last little bit of cap space. Also, we’re now years away from competing for a cup again with a rebuild/retool on the horizon. No need to keep him IMO.

How the hell we gonna win any games?

I mean the last game they won he made 41 saves

And we’re gonna be free of a whole lot of salary soon enough anyway so his contract will not be as bad as people make it out to be

You just hate Drury so much that you can’t reason with anything he does. I’m seeing the big picture and I realize I’m in the minority with it

We’d win games because we used that $12 million for a proper defense and other pieces so our goalie doesn’t need to be lights out every single game for us to win. I love Shesty, but I am on the side of trading him. It won’t happen, and I’m ok with that, but I think we could have a better team if he were traded.

There is still plenty of room under the cap for that to happen.

I think he’s in the process of shedding all the salary he can to still do that tho, build a better defense

This isn’t going to happen overnight is the thing. This year is a lost year it appears and he’s going to make the core disappear in one way or the other

They need Shesty tho to have any chance in the the coming years. He’s the foundation for the youth movement we’re about to see

I get that they would get a lot for him but to me it’s defeating the purpose because without him, winning anything will be that much harder.

We all have a sour taste in our mouths right now so no one is worth the money

Honestly if he does get traded that quickly, Drury has thinner skin than Dolan. Nothing the kid said was false

I just don’t understand nhl coaches. Is there no middle ground between “veteran guy who gives the old guys an infinite leash and scratches young guys” and “rebuild guy”??
