So wait the JT Miller rumors are actually real? I thought it was all just BS fans wanting the rangers to make a trade for the sake of making a trade and he was known to be on the block

Oh no, these rumors have been all over for atleast a month now. Thats why I was suggesting a Zib for Miller swap yesterday since its essentially the same contract and term, not that it makes it any better. But if its gonna happen I think it makes sense.

I would do that in a second but I doubt zib would agree to waive to go there

Maybe zib would agree if he was promised Kreider was going with him. Expand the trade lol

As dogpoop as Kreider has been and as disinterested as he may seem the idea of him and miller on the same line is kind of hilarious to me and might work?

Bottom line is Vancouver wants a real asset and they want it to be a defenseman. We probably will not like whatever it would take. The allure of getting rid of Mika is very strong though

I would consider giving up Schneider if it meant zib was going too

That’s a big hole that is created from an organizational depth perspective. A young, cost controlled, highly regarded RD with room to grow and eat minutes for Fox. Unless there’s a corresponding move for a different, relatively young, defensively responsible, cost controlled d man I don’t see it

I don't think I would do that. That's like paying Vancouver just to look at Zib.

Suppose it was a blockbuster

JT Miller, Soucy and Hronek (who has a lengthy and expensive deal now)

For

Zib, Kreider and Schneider

That about evens up the salaries and probably an even trade if they value Schneider that much

Why the (frank) would Vancouver do that?? They need to improve their defense and Hronek is Hughes’ partner

Well if they want Schneider we’d have to get a defenseman. And he’s cheaper and younger and could play with Hughes too

Hronek seems like a deal they may regret after a few years, and the salaries are kind of equal if you do the math for both teams

They’re giving us 2 defensemen and only getting 1 back though

I mean yea but is Soucy that highly regarded? He just helps us for a couple years. You could take him out if you had too. But the point is it’s probably attractive to them losing the term on Hronek and getting a younger cheaper guy to replace him

They 100% are adding to their defense not subtracting

Add Keandre to the deal and we’ll take Hoglander or Joshua

I think the two teams could work something out as far as equaling the salaries which would be half the battle and they’re two pretty aggressive GMs
