"We’ve seen Anders Lee re-signed, for example, when many thought that the team needed to move younger… Lee is also in that core group and at one time was also in the core group with Lou in New Jersey."
Anders Lee has never played for ANY OTHER TEAM. He is only and always an Islander. Not sure what you are talking about him being part of the "core in NJ". He never played there or anywhere else in NHL, ONLY on LI. |

When Lou was GM in NJ...he not only hosted these special private meetings with team leaders...but Anders Lee also attended as an Islander, just because he always epitomized the NJ Devils style. Some of the other Devils felt alienated by that. But Lou has his ways.

As an Islander fan. He's not deserving of a raise. He's paid right around what a 50-70 point guy should be paid. And he's 33. And I while I think there might be limited market for him.....it's quite limited. I would not resign him. Lou should trade him for young prospects that were drafted in 22/23 who might be NHL ready soonish. Picks do nothing for this team. |

How was Anders Lee in the core group for New Jersey? You then followed that up, acknowledging that he’s never played for another team. Can you help us make sense out of that? |

I wouldn’t say picks do nothing for this team. However picks do nothing for Lou. Because he won’t be alive when they finally make it to the NHL. Outside of the sheer Incompetence, This is a major reason why you don’t employ an 82-year-old to be your general manager |

That NEVER happened. As a GM of NJ Devils, Lou COULD NOT MEET with player from another team, nor "host them". That is pure garbage, and prohibited by all the CBAs that have been signed not to mention against LEAGUE RULES. It is called TAMPERING and is not allowed in ANY professional sports leagues. You are just making up garbage. |

Lou frequently took Anders Lee on hunting trips in the mid-90's, when he was with the Devils, in an effort to woo him |

He's literally the best center available in a trade market with very few centers that will be traded. He's going to get a very good return and generate a lot of interest. |

Ek nailed the Klingberg story. Have to give credit where due!
Edit: He named 7 teams but no mention of the Oilers. Dreger had the Oilers as the leading team. |

Yes this must be right. In the mid-90s, when Anders would have been 5 or 6 years old, he definitely went on hunting trips with a GM and President of a professional sports franchise. I am sure Lou sent a private plane to Edina MN to pick him up so they could go hunting together. That isn't a creepy thought at all that a man in his late 40s ish would take a 5 -6 year old hunting. |

I never said anything about hunting trips. Just stick to the facts of the story...Wherever Lou goes he has a core group, which he has meetings with, and won't trade away. Brock Nelson is part of that core. Lou had a core group in New Jersey and Anders Lee was part of that core. I sort of assumed these were like dinner parties. But I guess it could be hunting trips?

I dropped a big batch of sarcasm the other day. It melted into a pool on the ground and oozed into a storm drain. It meant a lot to me... I bought it off of power forward Mike Hoffman, who said he got it from Richard Park, who claimed to get it from a young David Poile sometime in the late 70's to early 90s.
Anyway, do you have some extra I can borrow?
