Simply out-talented.

We harp on Chiarot & Holl but Chiarot had his back toward an on-rushing opponent twice, both ended up in the net, GA. Holl did ittonight; everyone coallpsed to Lyon's left leaving the right dot down wide open; GA. The issue was the entire team was fixated on the puck vs the open ice. This happened a few nights ago as well. When we post-up, keep O-dudes in sight the D does well. When we do.....we don't. And we got torched for it. Must fix this.

Nice to see Kasper score. As he gets his sea legs under him, he's going to be a solid player. We need legit D help, desperately. I'm not pissed, we just got out-played by better teams with more talent. We can win on any given night, I present FLA as exhibit A, your Honor. We just don't have the gas to do it with the current roster. We WILL get there, gang. There's some good talent in the "A", hella good talent in the NCAA & SHL.

I wanted to see this team improve, and honestly it is. Biggest issue was behind the bench - fixed it. There's some guys we may be stuck with until the end of the season. And they do need to go, no doubt. I keep telling myself it'll get better, but yeah - it's frustrating. The Todd Father's got his hands full, but he's a smart dude, Yawney's no slouch but needs to have a good roster to play his style. It's going to get better. It's going to get BETTER. It's going TO GET BETTER!!

Chairot is really becoming a liability out there. His hockey IQ isn't even close to what a top pairing defenseman needs to be. Blown coverage and getting caught out of position seem to be a nightly occurrence. He has no business on the PK. I like that he does add some toughness and will drop the gloves to protect his teammates... but he belongs on the bottom pairing given his quality of play. Really need another legit top pairing defenseman and top tier center really bad.

It honestly feels like it will be quicker getting Edvinsson up to speed to be defensively what Chiarot seems to be letting go. 2 straight games he had to have felt that player behind him on the PK. Unless memory plays tricks on me, I thought I remembered PK guys physically removing players from the paint, not giving them inside position. Was just going through prospects again. Will be interesting to see if Buchelnikov gets bought out of his 2nd year. Kasper making strides, Danielson etc. would love to upgrade, but the market prices are apparently somewhat prohibitive and if a player has waiver control, good luck right now.

Red WIngs have recalled Soderblom for tonight's game in Philly. Looks like management is rewarding him for his solid play in GR the last few weeks. DCZ will be happy to see that. Now is the time for Soderblom to shine as he's in the last year of his ELC contract. At age 23 now... He really needs to take somebody's job in Detroit. He's going to get watched closely the rest of the season. Extend him or trade him... that is question. Now would be a really good time to break out...

Wings are starved for bottom 6 scoring... just read the following per Bob Duff:
"Michael Rasmussen hasn’t scored in the past 15 games. Christian Fischer has one goal in 34 games. Joe Veleno has netted once in 13 games. Motte has two goals in 28 games, while Vladimir Tarasenko has scored twice in 22 games, both in the same game. JT Compher shows three goals in 37 games."

McClelland really needs to find a way to get some balanced scoring. Especially from Tarasenko... who's really been a disappointment so far this season.
