Yeah I saw that afterwards. The twitter page that I initially saw that from was called nhl roomer bot or something so probably not very credible. The real trade makes a lot more sense.

Maybe it seemed inevitable now. But in the last week there were stories here of Miller to the Canes, Miller to Toronto for Marner, Miller to Pittsburgh, Miller to Montreal.

Miller was declining and a divisive influence with the Canucks.....he will not help the Rangers be relavent now. Enjoy that crazy cap hit.

Really true, no matter what you say about JT Miller, he has been in the top dozen of skaters in points the past 4, 5, 6 years.

Only 10 players (McDavid, Draisaitl, MacKinnon, Panarin, Pastrnak, Kucherov, Marner, Matthews, Rantanen) in the past 6 years. All make significantly more $ on average. Chytil is on pace for 40 points. That's very disappointing

Anyone see the Penguins trade today? Just like I said a few weeks ago. Zero chance that they are BUYERS. Just sold off two UFAs to add a 1st. I think Grzelyck also gets traded at some point. Likely the reason they took back Desharnais to give them a warm body on defense.

But maybe they sold today but will buy tomorrow??

I believe if NY Rangers were to climb into the top 13 (this year) then the pick moves to 2026, in which case the pick is unprotected.

That NYR pick would currently be #11. Plus they have buyers like Pittsburgh and Philly behind them. So it's more like a #9 pick. Decent chance that this ends up becoming a 2026 pick. Now it's unprotected and in a stronger draft.
