It’ll be an A+ trade. We will look back fondly on this trade for years to come
Zib is already reaping the benefits of it. He looked confident for the first time in eons which could be more important than anything.
Would you call up Groulx? He was the pending call up in the original deal that didn’t go through wasn’t he?
I’d like to see
Panarin Miller Zib
Cuylle Trocheck Laf
Kreider Groulx Smith
Vesey/Edstrom Carrick Rempe
JBrod/Kaliyev
It’s unfortunate that Kaliyev looks like the next Julian Gauthier. I’d like to see him play more but it’s unlikely the way the roster is currently constructed |

Groulx is a stop gap third liner. Not sure he is better than Brodzinski. I was expecting that grade from you |

I think he’s more of the in your face kind of guy. Idk he’s worth a look imo. But you’d think they get someone better then both if they do indeed make a playoff push |

I think the biggest problem we have now is Ryan Lindgren, and for me to admit that one is quite painful
that doesn't mean I think Zac Jones is answer either |

Yea 100%. I’ll miss him but it’s time to move on
Id go (for now)
Urho Fox
Miller Borgen
Brannstrom Schneider
Lindgren (sits in moth balls til he’s traded) |

What about Jake Evans? He developed nicely in MTL. Or Dvorak for that matter. Both UFAs and good on draws. Mtl is probably back in sell mode losing 5 straight
Maybe holding on to Zac Jones for someone bite and get a 3C isn’t a terrible idea. |

I wonder what it would take to get Josi from Nashville. That team is in rough shape. Gotta think they are looking to make some moves. |

Hey Jan, we drafted Mancini in 2022. (At least you know I read the blogs 😂) |

That seems a lil crazy. Don’t get me wrong I don’t mind crazy 3 more years with 9 million per season seems like that would be impossible to pull off
It is crazy how bad Nashville is this year tho, ooof |
|
|
|
So I was distracted during both games. Is Zib playing C, RW, or a combo? Because it seems like a combo.
RW but taking most of the faceoffs |

Starting at RW. But allows flexibility to move to C, shifting with Miller when needed |

Stamkos at age 34 signed that 4 year 8 million AAV deal last summer
Rangers are basically signing a 32 year Miller a 5 year 8 million AAV deal this summer after news of the huge cap spike

Zib is on the RW, but having him with Miller allows them to always have someone on their strong side for draws. |

I was thinking maybe at some point swap laf and Panarin. Let Miller be the driver on line one and Panarin/trocheck combo can drive line 2 |

when they played Vegas last month, Zib was 3-15 on draws that game
last night he was 6-3

Whatever line combos they come up with Cuylle needs to be in the top 6. He is wasted on the 3rd line. He brings more to the table then a few guys ahead of him

Cuyelle and Miller should be on the same line. Zib should be the 3C. |

Zib has looked the best he has all season on RW last night. I am giving this experiment more time |
