Why would NYI be looking to add a rental like Jake Evans? They will soon realize the season is over and start selling.
Or did you mean NJ instead of NYI? Because last week the rumour was NJ was looking for a top 6 forward and specifically mentioned JT Miller and Jake Evans. So with Miller traded, wouldn't NJ move on to plan B. Or maybe they realized he's not quite a top 6 forward.
I like the idea of Gorde to Detroit. Yzerman knows him well, back to when he was called Gourde. |

With Zibanejad succeeding (so far) at RW, Rangers could make a play for Evans as the 3C, depth piece. Ala Wennberg. May have to get closer to the WC spot, but definitely someone who’d be on their radar imo. Perhaps Dvorak too |

If the Leafs are moving Robertson at this years TDL and the rumoured interested teams are Dallas, Seattle, and Anaheim, then the return I would like to see is as follows:-
Anaheim: Mason McTavish
If Mason is available, the Leafs may have to add a mid round pick as NR alone may not be enough. I think it would be worthwhile. Fabbri is a maybe. Not interested in Vatrano.
Seattle: McCann or Tanvev would be at the top of my list. NR would not be enough by himself to get either. Wright would be intriguing if available. The kid I was really high on was Borgen but the Rangers got him in the Kakko trade.
Dallas: Thomas Harley
this team is so good they are not trading anyone good that the Leafs might be seeking. Harley might be possible through. |

Are you kidding? The Leafs will be lucky to get a 3rd or 4rth round pick for Robertson. McTavish or Harley .... dream on.

With Heiskanen hurt, Harley leads Dallas in time on ice. He leads the team at +27, by a wide margin. He's on pace for 40+ points, with very little PP time. He makes $4M this year and next, and expires as an RFA.
So it makes perfect sense to swap him for Nick Robertson. Add that to the rumour chart. |

Toronto gets nothing more than a 3rd for Nick on his own just like Jake Evans isn’t worth that |

He hasn’t decided yet. He makes $4 Mil and he will lose $488k. When is the last time someone won an appeal? I know Spezza got 6 games reduced to 5 and Wilson getting 20 reduced to 14. I don’t see him winning an appeal.

Just clarifying that what I’m saying here is that NR by himself will not net the Leaf’s any of these trade targets. The leafs will have to add more. But how much more might surprise a lot of you. With the salary cap rumoured to rise $9M next season and another $9+ the season after, teams are positioning themselves to offer ridiculous UFA contracts to sign players. I believe that Teams with good soon-to-be RFA/UFA players will realize that they can take the best offer or lose the player for nothing to a team with greater spending power. |
