Maybe it's time to unleash the hounds and run up the score. Defense be damned! Go all out to score. The Leafs have tried to sit on leads, recently, but that hasn't worked. Time to have some fun and pad some stats.

I dont think the hounds were leashed.

Without superstellar goaltending, this team seems to be pretty meh.

Leafs used to be an East-West team, but Burube turned them into a North-South team. Less offense and more defense. The core players, outside of JT played that style. It's getting more obvious that it's hurt Matthews goal production, but made him a better 200' player. Willy seems to have adapted the best of the core 3 forwards.

Get rid of Rielly, Marner and Nylander.

Bring in some thicc necks that don't dipsy-doodle and avoid contact and show up when they want.

Replace Rielly with a young Doughty type.

Replace Marner with Rantanen.

Replace Nylander with Marner.

Replace Rantanen with Nylander.

Replace Doughty type with Rielly.

Rinse and repeat.

The Leafs are 39-24-3 for 81 points. They are 5-4-1 in their last 10 games.

The Panthers are 41-24-3 for 85 points (2 more games played). They are 7-3-0 in their last ten games.

The Lightning are 38-23-5 for 85 points - same number of games as the Leafs. They are 6-3-1 in their last 10 games.

Maybe what the team needs most is for the fans to quit whining and panicking after every single loss.

FFS, just chill.

They need to increase season ticket prices. That’ll help….

Fans don't give this team an inch.

If they are in a bad stretch thats who they think they will be forever.

In reality we have to see how they respond the next 10 games...but fans have no control over how they will play so they decide this is who they are.

Fans don't play or win games (unless you drive the zamboni), better coaches and players do though.

I agree. Dont live game by game.
But all you did was compare the leafs to two teams the leafs desparately need to end the year ahead of to avoid playing in the first round. Both of which have better results and have cups in recent years.
Probably why some are stressing
But its all about playoffs.

The people who say that Leafs fans reaction is all about a single regular season loss are missing the point entirely.

They've lost 5 of 6 with their only win coming in a shootout. Multiple blown leads. Even when they were winning, they weren't looking good. Can they turn it around? 100%. But what else would we be doing here if not discussion the current state of our hockey team?!?

While I sit here enjoying this gorgeous Florida weather, I can't help but wonder how tariffs will impact my ability to build my meteorite collection.

What you should have said to check off all the options:
While I sit here enjoying this gorgeous Florida weather, while listening to Duran Duran with the Jay game on mute in the background while casting off my dock, I can't help but wonder how tariffs will impact my ability to build my meteorite collection.

1. Rediscover their 5v5 defensive play from October-December when the Leafs were elite defensively and were still plugging away offensively. Yes, goalies were great but the Leafs were also #1 in suppressing high danger against. They've been sloppy since.

2. Get their special teams feeling good and then get them to perform in the playoffs. Special teams has killed them in the playoffs.
