Is Briere allowed to fire the coach on his own?

Has the team improved since the head coach took over?

Can you point to any individual player taking big steps in the development process?

Can you point to any individual player regressing or staying static?

Do you approve on how the coach has handled the “franchise” player?

Once you answer those questions you have your answer.

I hope he stays as his job is not done yet. Will he get that ext is the question. Otherwise we will see if the coach is FOS.

The Flyers have done things the right way so far and Tortorella is a well respected hockey veteran coach. He deserves the right to say what he wants to do, whether that is going upstairs to an advisory role or getting an extension to coach and see this team through to the promised land.

The ideal scenario would be for him to go upstairs to an advisory role. Ian Lappierre would be the best replacement as he has earned his keep and paid his dues. Would be a great fit for the current club as he has had great success in the AHL. He is also a Flyer through and through.

they need an Eagles coaching structure. Keep Torts so he can run the first week of training camp, stand behind the bench and scream at refs and do post game pressers where he'll talk about culture and playing the right way. Give him the power to bench a guy every once in a while but beyond that trust the actual coaching to an entirely new staff.

Pointless question since Torts reports directly to Hilferty and pretty much does whatever he wants.

The one thing I can give Torts credit for is the team works hard most every night. The negatives are there is no improvement in results, the team is stagnant, no one has really broken out and developed under him and I dont think his style will move them forward. DB will not have what it takes fire Torts thats so he either will be back to coach or promoted to some new position

bold strategy...

torts should not be allowed to move into an advisor role whatsoever. his time here has run its course and time to move on.

The coaching decision is going to be fascinating because the team is going to be bad next year no matter what they do in the offseason. Will any decent coach want the job? Do you keep Torts for another year when every player is stagnating under his watch? Will Torts demand Rocky stay on setting up a battle between him and Briere?

It’s going to be a crapshow of an offseason but it will be interesting.

I think we all know the answer to the bolded part of your question. Torts demands accountability so of course he will retain Rocky. Rocky has a great presentation to show everyone this offseason again.

I think the biggest question right now is WTF is up w TK?!?!

Overplayed. Not a top line player who can beat other teams shutdown line and defense pair when checking ramps up in the spring. No centers above 3rd line to help him. Powerplay atrocious.

Should trots be fired

Hard to say, considering his nhl roster players got traded for picks, his number 1 goalie is gone do to sexual assault charge, not sure if any coach would win with this

Some players have made improvements

All depends on how u look at it, it's a rebuild so he wasn't expected to win a cup.

The Rocky decision will show us further insight into the corporate structure. If the HC gets to keep his assistant who has failed miserably with one of his responsibilities, the GM is toothless. Torts is deflecting blame from his staff by proclaiming there is no PP QB on the roster. Seems to me the HC is putting the GM on blast to do a better job of acquiring talent. The white lie that Torts does not want everyone to know there is a track record of ineptitude of Rocky running a PP outside the organization. Also, Torts' PP in CLB was bottom third.

It should be on Torts that a lot of our young guys havent developed. Tyson, Joel, andre, York.......i put those on Torts and least a portion of the blame should be on him. He needs to go asap

People on here hate torts because he is a big meant to players.

They wanted the team to tank and blame him for not taking . It's up to the GM to tank and thats what Danny is doing

We'll see what happens. New Era of Orange has certainly been all about player accountability. What happens when members of the coaching staff just cannot perform their job responsibilities to even a league average over an extended period of time? This summer by their actions or inactions, we'll have answers.
