I decided to play NHL 25's franchise mode and simmed a season. The "owner" of the Leafs came to me and said I didn't make enough money and said I have to turn it around or their will be consequences. It was amazingly real.

There's a lot of downside too. Imagine being stuck in that pit of despair when things go wrong. Or your anguished face ending up a meme for hockey fans to enjoy mocking.

I watched the game in front of the fiancee's tv, which pretty much makes it my tv, and I was standing a couple of feet from the screen for the first two periods. I was psyched. The mini schnauzer got fed up with it and left for one of her other comfortable chairs.

I love the idea of watching a game in a party-like atmosphere.

But that's any sports bar in Toronto - with free admission, cheaper beer, food, and you don't have to pee in a porta-potty.

So I went and checked on ticket prices for tomorrow night on Ticketmaster.

For some inexplicable reason, it no longer sorts the ticket selections by price. It's just completely random, and you have to scroll through.

There is no worse user experience than Ticketmaster.

Bad news guys. Berube reads hockeybuzz and is starting Murray tomorrow because he has the most experience.

Almost every talking head on the radio today talking Ottawa up. You would think the Leafs laid a giant egg last night. The standard jist I heard today was Ottawa was bad because of nerves and when they sort their game out in Game 2 the Leafs are in trouble.

Maybe I am a homer but the Leafs primary issue over the playoffs has been power play and goal scoring. Both were clicking last night.

Ottawa has some chances but I would say the play was about even and the Leafs grade A chances were better than the Sens and our goalie made saves and theirs didn't.

My only complaint with watching the game at a bar is you end up drinking to much and talking vs watching every play.

I’ll never go out for a game 7 or something. I need to be at a house fully engaged. I don’t care if we have a couple guys over that are big fans but I like to watch it in that type of atmosphere.

I wasn’t worried at any point during the game last night. Which is odd for me. I had a weird sense of calm and leafs have this. Hopefully that continues.
