Its a 2027 or 2028 first rounder. My guess is that it will be deferred to 2028 so that Florida can add to their roster next year too with their 2027 first rounder.
Any thoughts on this year's pick? I'm looking forward to the lottery to see exactly where they will draft at. |

Question for Bruin fans. You have a lot of real good pieces that like us I dont see you doing a tear down to the studs rebuild & Im sure Sweeney would like an extension after next year. But from all the years you were buyers at the TDL the cupboards are a bit thin. Its looking like you have the #5 (maybe better by next Monday) but assuming you have #5. Flames need one of these top centers in the pipeline stat! Would the Bruins be open to trading that #5 pick & yes I know its valuable. But what if you had a package of the #18(Jersey pick) & the Florida 1st round pick & Andersen (who would easily get you a late 1st & good prospect if you decided not to resign him) & we could probably throw in a very good young prospect like Kerins. Just curious if this would even be close. |

Sounds like a lot to give up for a #5 pick (assuming that is where they land). I am certain Sweeney would trade down and take Anderson without the prospect.
Trouble for me is I want them to select with the pick. But the Bruin's brass have not ruled playoffs out next year. I could easily see them trading #5 away for a deal like this. I wouldn't do it, but I also disagree with the vision Sweeney and Neely have for this team. |

Yeah I know on other Flame threads, I was almost run out of town for giving up that much hahaha. I just know to move up to a top 5 doesnt happen too often & we really need a good center prospect that has 1-2 C potential. We have 2 1st picks next year & we have some nice young pieces in Wolf, Parekh & Coronato. I hope Conroy has some dialogue with Sweeney & explore this with the two teams. We could potentially be a good trade match. |

I mean you are not wrong. Sweeney also is looking to improve the roster for next year. Wouldn't surprise me at all if it was a version of what you offered or a three team trade with retention on huberdeau of some kind. Sweeney loves his reclamation projects.
Again not what I would do, but could see our GM doing it. |

If he uses his size to his advantage he can be quite effective. Also can shoot the puck if he chooses to but hardly ever got the opportunity in Boston since he was used primarily in a shut down role.
Give him a consistent partner and he will probably continue to be a nice surprise. |

Sullivan is off the board as a coach. Anyone want to make bets whether or not they just hand it to Sacco? |

Leafs are rolling all 3 defensive pairs with confidence but he's consistently with Rielly and he's just been great at shutting things down.

He will help Reilly get more offensive opportunities 5v5 too. Hopefully it's enough to break the drought. Tough road but leafs are deep. Good luck |

Hey Jacob's, take a look at what the Kings did with a looser GM. Get a clue! |

And will select a 5’10” defenseman from some college in Massachusetts. “He’s really good on the PK”. |

Armchair GM for me:
Jake O'Brien, Jackson Smith, Carter Bear. In that order.
Given it's Sweeney and Neely. That vision I would avoid eklund and McQueen. Not a good fit for their 'vison' or whatever you call the plan they are poopting out
Obviously if someone slides that is top 5 select them but this draft is short on top talent. |

Oh don't worry, I'm sure there's a true 4th rounder who will drop in their lap in the 7th slot. |

Hey at least you're embracing what's coming. Sweeney/Neely rebuild. Bringing the big bad bruins back whether you like it or not......or whether they are good or not |
