I agree on Klingberg, he along with Bouch, Nurse and banged up Walman were my major question marks this series. The guy is playing a lot of minutes for someone who missed a lot of time past couple years.

Yet somehow a more heavy forecheck from Vegas and these guys didn't break.

Part of it though really was our forwards for the most part being smart with the back check and in our own zone. Bruce Curlock had some really good points at oilersnation today about our forwards. Kinda funny what results the team can get when the players start playing as a team, rather than lone gunmen

Your last note is pretty funny. I joked in other thread about whether or not the Oilers read what Kevin Woodley had to say about Hill. Either they read this or the man everyone wants fired is actually doing part of his job.

“On open looks, you should go after his glove,” said Woodley. “When I did the charting, high glove during the regular season was 24 goals, and high blocker was 15. The first round in the playoffs saw four goals high glove, and that was the predominant area to score on him. When they (shooters) move a goalie east-west, they know when the goalie slides or moves laterally, they tend to lower their gloves, so they shoot there. Save percentage on high glove was .768%, and his expected goal differential was significantly below expected. So open looks and lateral plays, that’s where you go.

That Hyman goal was such a snipe and Browns individual effort was insane, he made it look so easy to beat that defender and score. Nice to see them get that game 1 monkey off their back especially when it was in Vegas, a historically good home playoff team.

What a picture, guy gets punched in face with follow through and a bunch of people that must've got comp tickets as they aren't paying attention. Old guy looks worried too

Hyman on a roll now, with back to back games with a goal. Plus he's still playing physical. The guy is literally 10 hits away from his season total of 59. Went from 2.56 to 22.98 hits per 60. If he's back oh boy, things are gonna look good going forward.

Especially with our depth chipping in with goals nightly. Brown at 31 playing some of his best hockey of his career. Perry at 58 scoring and being a menace. Then the rest of them either using their hockey IQ's to make smart defensive players or their size to disrupt plays.

I didn't think Vegas did a great job on the forecheck, Pickard had tons of time to play the puck on a lot of dump-ins. Looked like Mike Smith out there. To be fair though, he was probably so bored not having to make saves, he felt the need to skate around a bit.

I think we'll see Vegas amp up the forecheck and physicality next game.

Thought they did more than LA though.

Pickard playing puck more is interesting. Seems to come out a lot more than he use to

Sure funny how much good you hear about Ceci in Dallas.

I swear Oiler fans just like to rip on players because they don't watch any other games and realize every d-man makes mistakes from time to time.

Ceci was a decent contract, but fans sure were happy when we dumped him

Ceci was on the ice for 4 goals for and 6 goals against at 5 on 5 against the Avs. The Stars were outshot 44-85 when he was on the ice. In one game against the Jets so far the Stars were outshot 7-12 when Ceci was on the ice.

Ceci is very much the same player he was in Edmonton and any Stars fan praising him clearly isn't watching.

Oilers getting some depth scoring. They make the Knights look pretty ordinary. It’s too early but it looks like this one is over.

Pickard gave up 4 last night but had a great game. Made a ton of huge saves.

He's all world once games hit the 3rd period and overtime.
