Of course he can. When the Oilers are playing to tue best of their abilities in these playoffs, no team can hang with them, and no game has been close . When they take stupid penalties or take their foot off the gas they are very beatable, and while Skinner has not saved them from a game they deserved to lose in this playoffs, he hasn’t cost them a game they otherwise should have won. He goes as this team goes.

I bet Florida can hang with them.

No team can hang with them? There is this team called the Panthers that can probably hang with them. You know, the one that beat them in the Finals last year. Just sayin. Hell, the Kings were 25 seconds from going up 3-1 in that series before they let them off the hook. Go Stars!!!

Read more, post less. Of course any team can beat them when the Oilers play stupid or lazy, but so far in this playoffs , nobody has matched up with them when they are playing to their full capabilities. They haven’t lost a game where they played great, the other team was just better .

Perhaps I should just read LESS of your posts. You do know that there is another team on the ice that can impose their will on your precious team? My point was that they haven't played the Cats in the playoffs this year and lost to them last year, but somehow that obvious point escaped you. They haven't lost a game where they played great? Wow, so original. Go Stars!!

If they get past Dallas I think he'll have to channel some sort of inner 1993 Patrick Roy performance to beat Florida.

The one thing that could stop the Cats is injuries. Apparently Reinhart is dealing with a knee injury and now Mikkola may have a shoulder issue.

.890 , 3-4 record and a 2.9 gpa. He can win, but it won’t be because he played well. Having those stats with 3 shutouts is shockingly bad.

you're still stuck judging him for 2 games in april in the first round when the entire team was trash coming back from injuries. Since those 2 games he has a .944, now Skinner is a .902 and Oettinger is a .906 and it will be swapped after the next game.

Winning in spite of Skinner not because of Skinner

He can win it. It’s a team game and the squad in front of him will give the team a chance to win each night, and he will play some good games and perhaps have a few bad games like any other good goalie. This is the oilers year.

Maybe, Skinner won’t steal any games for the Oilers , but he has been spectacular this afternoon , nobody can deny that.

No. But Edmonton might score more goals than Skinner lets in. The Stanley Cup Final will essentially be the Edmonton Oilers skaters vs. Stuart Skinner’s Save Percentage & Goals Against Average.

Skinner is 26, most goalies don't hit their stride until late 20's
