Bring Kadri back, send Kampf and Jarnkrok the other way.
Calgary gets out of a contract that doesn't fit with their rebuilding timeline, we get a fan fav, a playoff warrior, a cup winner, and a guy who's still capable of 60-70 points and can play up and down the lineup.

It will be interesting to see how this pans out. The leafs are soft, but I also thought marner was soft. Now we see who is softer |

Something needed to be done to this team, we couldnt run it back and on the surface it did seem like Marner needed to go, and we needed to let him go. But in typical leafy fashion its gonna hurt to see him hoist a cup in Vegas.
Mathews went down for a strech in the regular season and the team handled it just fine... just a thought. But I will admit not a fan of him either.
Fracking Shanaplan. Should have kept Lou and Hunter not boy genius.
It hurts to be a leaf fan. |

Thats a tall Salary to take on, when you consider (and no not playing a delousional leaf fan) the slightest remote possibility to try and grab McDavid. I guess you could always trade away Mathews for picks some picks if that was going to happen. Other than that, Id love to see Kadri back. |

No way McDavid leaves Edmonton after they fixed their goalie problem with Tomkins.

Marner is the Lebron of the NHL minus the skill! I mean he is skilled but not as good in the NHL as Lebron is in the NBA. Leaving and sewering his boyhood team when he could have just waived his NMC showed everyone his true colours. I can only hope someone catches him next season with a big hit and makes him that much more scared of touching the puck in the playoffs!
Now to unload Kampf and Jarnkrock which will free up another $4,500,000 giving the Leafs roughly $10,362,705 to fill some holes.
Maccelli is a LW so it would be more advantageous to acquire a top 6 and bottom 6 RW.
Knies - Matthews - ???
Maccelli - Tavares - Nylander
Domi - Roy - McMann
Lorentz - Laughton - ???
Who would you go after?
Would you build a trade package around Cowan?
Would you trade Reilly?
Is there a world were the Leafs can trade those two plus for Bowen Byram and Alex Tuch or Tage Thompson? |

Marner is Lebron, minus the skill, the winning pedigree, the size, the dominance in the post-season... but yeah, just like Lebron!
