I wonder if Morreale and Kimelman (both analyists of junior players) are pleased you promoted them to "the top NHL analysts from headquarters". |

Off-pudding? - Atomic Wedgie
Ya, combined with "an league" in the title it was tough to get much further. |

Blog could use a proofread but thanks for the consistent posts.
Wonder how the Sens will react to the Alex Formenton verdict should the players be allowed to proceed with NHL careers. Albeit the story was sketchy, without criminal charges, you can’t really hold them out of the league.
Folks would be shocked at a lot of stories of former and current NHLers. Heck, professional sports really. Not a lot of stories get this publicity.

Pudding isn’t very good. Custard is the way to go. |

Finally my account got re-instated! Man, that was a messed up time period.
Would be really interesting Gord if Formenton joins Sens. Don't see it happening until NHL gives complete green light which may take time. I don't know.
I really would like Sens to get Mason McTavish - he would be a solid addition to the top 6. |

If Sens want to stand up to the Panthers in the playoffs they need to get bigger and more physical. They clearly understand the need to make themselves bigger and meaner. Mactavish would be a great fit. But Anaheim would be asking for a lot in return. Price is probably too rich for the Sens appetite at this time.
The additions at the deadline were outstanding
Zetterlund and Cozins are superb fits. I think both will play top 6. Add Mactavish into that mix and this becomes a very deep team. |

If allowed, I would sign Formenton and then package him with Halliday and a 2nd round pick to get MacTavish from Anaheim.

Mactavish will cost the equivalent of 3 firsts or an established player (like Batherson) plus a 1st round pick. Would you do Batherson + Grieg for a Big Mac. |

It'll be curious to see how the league reacts here.. But if Quennville can get a job in the NHL again...
I'd be curious if Formenton want's to come back to Ottawa. He and all the players involved may prefer a change of scenery if they do decide to return.

3 first round picks is absolutely absurd. MacTavish has underwhelmed in Anaheim and is a 3rd line player, and sometimes 4rth line or an occasional healthy scratch. Big Mac ???!!! Hardly. Maybe toss in an Amadio, Guenette, Jenik. Maybe even add Zub to the mix (or Jensen) if you feel Spence can advance.

Last summer Pierre Luc Dubois was being shopped by the Kings. I thought he was a great fit for the Sens. Most folks thought he was badly overrated, poisen in the dressing room etc, etc. and they said he should be "avoided."
This summer the guy supposedly being shopped is McTavish. Big body, decent numbers in his first three years. The team that gets him will be well rewarded. Sometimes it is more than just what a guy can do on his own. McTavish, like Zetterlund and Cozins play the kind of game that can help a team go deep into the playoffs.,

Formenton has said he is retired from hockey. Also, sens didn't qualify him. So they don't own the rights.
MacTavish only works if he is on first line rw. So zetterlund goes to 2nd rw. 3rw is giroux. So Batherson has to be part of the deal.

I guess my "banning" is over.
Now that the trial is over.
No thanks on McTavish. |

Brady Tkachuk - Tim Stutzle - Fabian Zetterlund
Mason McTavish - Dylan Cozens - Drake Batherson
Ridly Grieg - Shane Pinto - Claude Giroux
Nick Cousins - Lars Eller - Michael Amadio
Jake Sanderson - Artem Zub
Thomas Chabot - Nick Jensen
Tyler Kleven - Jordan Spence
Linus Ullmark
*That top 6 would be pretty powerful. Also can move Pinto up, Z to 3rd line:
Tkachuk - Stutzle - Cozens
McTavish - Pinto - Batherson |

I hope the Sens are able to stay in a firm playoff position from opening night until their first playoff game. The fan base is exhausted by the early season struggles that leave us always looking up as we fall behind the leaders during the early season.
I think the Sens front office has done a masterful job over the back end of last season and this summer of adding some serious size and grit into the line up. I feel positive.

2020 I was all in hoping the Sens would draft Marco Rossi. Rossi was taken 9th by Minnesota. I thought the Sens should have taken him at 3 or 5. I am glad nobody listened to me.
Rossi had a really slow beginning to his career. He had severe long covid complications. But, he has had two nice years since missing almost an entire season. 20+ goals and in the range of 60 points for his last two seasons.
Guerin said he is not anxious to move Rossi. But folks believe he is open to an offer. Vancouver offered the 15th pick in this year's draft. Rossi's agent and Guerin are not talking about getting him signed.
Last year Rossi showed flashes of the brilliance that made him such a huge OHL talent.
He would be a hard fit for the Sens. But, I still think he has the potential to be a 100 point NHL player.
