Hopefully Fitz is able to get this done, it seems like he's set on a price and it's just up to Bratt and his agent to get it across the finish line. Based on the feeling of exit interviews and Fitz' interview, my thoughts on Bratt and Meier have flipped. I now feel like Bratt will be the easier one to get done, and I think it will. I'm hoping for an 8 year deal, but I'm not going to be surprised at all if it ends up being a 4 or 5 year deal which allows him to get to UFA at 28-29 for another big payday. My prediction, 4 years 7.25-7.5M AAV.
We're going to lose any trade that we make with Bratt going the other way, so I hope it doesn't come to that. It'll likely be a combination of futures and a middle 6 winger at best unfortunately. Buchnevic would be a great target in your proposal, but i dont believe Bratt is highly regarded enough around the league to net that good of a return.
One month to go until the draft though, so we'll see a resolution one way or the other pretty soon here. |

I'm good to with a 4-5 year contract so Bratt can get his big payday down the line. Cap will probably be significantly higher then so if we want to commit we can, or we can move on. Saves us from the huge payday right now his agent has been pushing for. |

Good read, thanks! Intrigued by the thought of Buch and a first rounder for Bratt. Rags fans would go ballistic 😆

That is a spicy take, getting back what some, or maybe many, would consider as the better player in Buchnevich, who also plays Center and is on a cheaper contract for the next 2 seasons, plus a 1st round pick for Bratt.
Evolving Hockey's contract projection for Bratt is roughly $7M per for 5 seasons.
I don't think the Devils would get the return the article suggests, but if Bratt were made available, I'm certain the Buffalo Sabres would be calling to make an offer.
They have a lot of assets. |

There's no way the Blues would or could do this trade as is. They'd need more money out.
Buch is highly valuable to the team. Likely such a trade would involve a Blues dman to get some cap space. The Blues really like Dean and are thin up the middle so Im doubtful they'd package him nor would he, as a recent 1st rounder value out as a 3rd. You're not going to get an all situations dynamic player with a sweet contract and essentially two first round picks for a decent young player.
I see the Blues as having interest but I'm not what they could deal without the deal getting a lot bigger. |

You say it's a spicy take, then agree with what I say? What lol. I don't think it's spicy at all to say that Bratt isnt regarded highly enough around the league to net a return of Buchnevich(a lot of people just consider him being a better player than Bratt), a 1st, a 3rd, AND a prospect on top of it. Lol |

Unless he is willing to take a team friendly deal, trade him if the return is good or better than expected
What that is I am not sure |

Bratt for Nylander - RubberBiscuitz
One problem for another, I like it. |

Andrew Brunette is the new HC for the Preds, per Kevin Weekes. Wonder if we finally see Sergei Brylin get the nod for that role(he ran the PP when he was in Utica) or if they go for another outside hire. |
