Way off topic, but has anyone else had problems paying for their "season ticket" here? Been trying for weeks and nothing goes through. Messages sent to Eck have gone unanswered.
Any ideas? Need some help here because the ads here are making reading a real pain. Thanks in advance.

Did anyone read the post by EK that the Hawks are IN on acquiring Gibson. If anyone can make even a "weak" argument for this I would be interested in their perspective.

I commented on it. He didn't reference even a hint that the Hawks interest came from any kind of source. It was him simply saying they have cap space and Bedard.

5 goals in .... 12:8 .... seconds? Well at least I can finally say I've never been on any team that did that ... I swear there were some that came close though.

Also - those forward lines ... I don't know... just seems like more of the old line blender thing happening again. I don't think the Hawks have the overall talent to warrant bothering playing around with combinations as much as they have been doing (injuries excluded).

Point made in last blog shortly before this blog went live up:

One possible reason for Donato and Reichel move to a lower line could be

Richardson is getting close to praying for Kurashev to show more scoring playing with Superman’s nephew

Firefox is my go to browser on my laptop. I added an extension called "AdBlock" or maybe "AdBlock Plus" to Firefox.

My cell plhone is a Samsung Android with Samsung Internet as the browser. I'm using "AdBlock for Samsung Internet".

Except for the fact that Ek says that Gibson might want to play with the Hawks simply because they have Bedard.

Don't really buy that one. Do goalers really care about that?

After watching two WJC games Celebrini looks to be far better and more dynamic than Fantilli and plays a similar two way game as well. The thing about Lindstrom, and I believe size is the third or fourth factor of importance, is he’s not only massive he skates incredibly well, he’s skillful and he can go around or through guys. Is he the next Tom Wilson only a better player? The Hawks will definitely walk away with a good player.

I meant to add that there are allot of people who believe Celebrini isn’t that far behind Bedard in ability, if he’s behind at all. And with a better two way game he could prove to be the better overall player.

Wow Paul, very interesting. ......As I watched CAN's first WJC game and Celebrini my thought was, damn, how far ahead of anyone Bedard is offensively. Last yrs WJC the kid was dangerous every second it seemed.

Most times I watch Celebrini I think, my Lord, this kid weighs 190 lbs. He does not look it at all. Not saying he plays small just that his movements are that of a lighter player.. Never saw him live but guess I saw 90% of his USHL games and another thing many don't realize this kid is a tough dude. As a 16 yr old when they were giving him the business kid always had push back.

There is much much more to Celebrini than points. Kid is a hockey player not a points guy.... Will he be better than Fantilli? Man, Fantilli is a load right NOW in the NHL and make no mistake he's got loads and loads of skill in his hands and feet. He'll be a true power player with tons of skill, compete and hunger in his game.... NHLers have a hard time knocking him off the puck right now.

I was sure the Hawks would land Fantilli last yr. No way they get Bedard I thought. This yr from the get go I thought Eiserman will be a Hawk. Maybe my psychology will work 2 yrs in a row and they land Celebrini?!?!

Eiserman would be a wonderful consolation prize. A pure goal scorer that can skate with and understand elite players like Bedard.

I wasn’t comparing Bedard or Celebrini’s strength on the puck. I’m talking strictly from a skill point. Last year in the WJC Fantilli played a strong safe game but Bedard was totally offensively dominating. In this WJC, so far, Celebrini has started totally dominating the play offensively.

Lots of consolation prizes in this upcoming draft but you of all people talking about Eiserman over Lindstrom is surprising.

This is why I read what you post, Paul. Opining that Celebrini may end up a better HOCKEY player than Bedard is not a hot take IMO. It was/is taboo to point out Bedard's weaknesses in all 3 zones but having seen it up close and personal this yr kid has a ways to go to be a 2 way hockey player.

But, as you know with jrs/young players it's all about improving. To do that you need to understand you need work on your game AND accept the coaching to do so. In the last 5ish games I've seen that from Bedard, and this kid was pissin me off to no end.

How many times has he skated into 3-4 players the last 5 games? How many times has he passed the bench already having been out for a minute? ..... Kid has checked up on 3 men and fed the trailer for a goal. He's dumped 5-6 times the last 3 games (notice how good his dumps are, the goalie never gets them). First 25 he NEVER dumped.

Tells me after watching jrs a long time kid is getting it, understands he needs work, is accepting those FACTS and is adjusting. And doing so at the NHL level as an 18 yr old.

Bedard has a generational brain IMO. He also has a top 2-3 shot in the world and he's just 18. If he wants to be better than Celebrini he will be. If he's happy with just putting up 130 pts he'll do that....... Kid will be as great as he wants to be, only he can stop/limit himself. And we know he's a rink rat of the highest order. Don't know that Celebrini has that kinda game, and IMO Celebrini has a ceiling of a Toews like game with 100 pt skill.
