Lindstrom seems like a nice change of pace player with them already having Bedard.
6'4 and 220 as a 17 year old is gigantic. |

Would you put Phillips with Crevier or split them up. No Murphy. And is priority who you pair with KK |

Maybe
Can he make plays at speed
Will he turn out to be another Bickel skill wise and production. If Bickel had his health I believe he would have been a player who produces in clutch moments but not a consistent points producer. Very small window seeing Lindstrom produce and you have to be sure you project him correctly. I reserve enthusiasm to select him pending wiz final evaluation |

Wow! Vlasic coming back and breaking up that two on one with that long reach. |

Prior to the 2023 season start, he didn't have the resume to justify being an early first rounder, but there is too much I like to not have him there now. At six foot four plus, he has a rare combination of size, above average skating ability, the ability to make plays in tight areas, and strong hockey instincts. He hasn't put his game altogether, but has all the outstanding tools in his size, skills, and hands that screams scary potential. He has the power and finesse that team covet. He was moved permanently to centre this season and he has shown plenty of new offensive generation ability with his fakes, set-ups and pass deception. At his size, he controls the middle of the ice and dominate the territorial play in his shorts, easily moving pucks out of danger, keeping teams pinned in their own end with a tumultuous forecheck. His skating is surprisingly good for such a large kid. In December he sustained an upper body injury, but no one has looked more dominant in the WHL this season. There are very few 6’ 4” -220 lb 17 year old centres who move with his agility or has as much puck skill as he does. He has found a balance this season using his patience and creativity to create separation, using his teammates effectively and using his strength each and size to force his way to middle ice or to the net. Some team will take him early, as he projects as a special player who engages defensively, transports the puck really well, wins puck battles, and displays one heck of a shot.

Just got off a plane in Dallas, and see Phillips & Crevier are -2.
Tough playing AHL defenseman as a pair in the NHL. Can only shelter so much.
Good luck to the Hawks in the last 40. |

Pretty entertaining game. Helps that Reichel is in the press box. Gotta give LR credit for motivating all of these plugs. |

While Phillips has been an adventure at times tonight, I’d rather have him dressed over Tinordi. At least Phillips is young and learning on the job, the other guy is done learning, and he’s still bad. |

Thats the question with everyone and unfortunately it takes about 2 or 3 years in the NHL to get a definitive answer on that.
And Bickell wasn't that great of a player. Kind of crazy that he got the deal he got. Sure some clutch goals but every goal in the playoffs is clutch. Handzuš was a much more productive player in his prime and of similar size.
Slafkovsky is a beast of a human but also not really throwing his ass around and probably won't know what he is until next year or the year after since that first season was a bit short. But it looks like a pretty decent floor. Sometimes you gotta draft the physical ability and hope the rest catches up. Maybe it won't in this case but it certainly did for Rantanen.
I think if they don't go first overall - taking a flyer on the unicorn giant that looks like he kind of sort of mostly has all of the tools and even if he isn't Joe Thornton - its probably still a win.
They have enough draft capital where they can still move futures to get someone OR they'll still be poopty next year and will probably have another top 8 pick or so plus the Toronto pick if they wanna move up or whatever. |

Kuzmenko made an amazing play and had the assist on their goal when they were on ice very early period one.
Later in period one I heard Megna with Phillips. Not sure who is playing with whom as I have listened to snippets of the game
UpDATE early period three KK and Crevier a pairing So Phillips is with Megda as Vlasic paired with S Jones |

Not too long ago Bill said he wanted to see more from Lindstrom before he cements his evaluation. As I mentioned, Wiz wants to be sure so he wants to see more. We know only this season has Lindstrom really come on showing the things mentioned in the glowing report. However he does sound like a great choice and I would guess that wiz will likely wind up rating him very high (early) on the list. Three top forwards including him the Blackhawks would do well to add to their woebegoten roster which is lacking top line finishers |

Definitely one quality you want in a coach, able to get most if not all of the players working hard and playing as best as they’re capable. Unfortunately it’s hard to gauge what he can do with better talent, is he a capable strategist and tactician? I know some posters don’t like him for whatever reason but I think he’s earned himself a spot until he runs with it or proves he's incapable. |

I think hearing him talk in interviews is refreshing. He actually explains the game and it sounds like he sees the game well and communicates well.
1400 NHL games should give him some credibility with the guys and they play hard. Maybe not intelligently but hard more or less.
But to your point it's impossible to give a proper evaluation until they get some more talent. |

You could make a case for 11 good Canuck players to 1 Blackhawk tonight But overstated somewhat
Late additional remark:
Hronek, dman Vancouver, has 3-33 for 36 points. Who knew |

C Blackwell would ba a real nice pick up if dealt and he remains healthy
I would rather keep him though. What would we get….renumeration a third round and that is really stretching what we could expect for often injured Blackwell
Some time next year but definetly the season after figure Savoie Nazar and others will be here |

Vlasic and Mrazek were the only two that played a solid game from start to finish. R Johnson was decent in limited ice time.
Crevier and Phillips were terrible all night. Jones struggled mightily too.
Foligno and Blackwell played well in the 3rd, but didn’t do much before that.
Katchouk & Kurashev gave decent efforts without results. |
