While I don't think Stauber is the solution to the Hawks back-up goalie situation I think it wouldn't hurt to give him a game or two just to see what he'll give the Hawks.

Stauber's AHL numbers haven't been great, over the past 2 seasons he's averaged a GAA of 3.18 and Save % of 0.895. But his NHL numbers from last season were much better - 2.81 and 0.911. Certainly not stellar numbers, but they're good numbers considering the team in front of Stauber last season. I'm ok either way if Stauber gets a chance this year or not.

Rockford has 47 points in 48 games. How much would you say the defense influences the unenviable goaltending stats for either goalie?

Fair enough, but my point is to temper expectations that Stauber can step-up to fill the back-up goalie void the Hawks seem to have.

Bring him up, he can also add to the offense with his wicked full-ice shot 🤣

I figured the backup job was Stauber's to lose, but he struggled here in preseason, so back to Rockford to work on it. I was more asking a general question about how much one can infer from those stats. Stauber is an RFA this summer, so I would imagine he gets called up for a cup of coffee as part of the decision making process.

Four Maple Loaf goals last night for McCabe, Kampf and Domi (2). If only they were still on the Hawks, Chicago would only be eight points from a playoff spot.

Good point.

I expect the organization will bring back Stauber, likely to play in Rockford next season. I would also expect Commesso to play most of the season in Rockford next year but with a cup of coffee or two throughout the season.

If I had to guess, the Hawks will buy out Soderblom or trade him for "future considerations". Then through free agency or trade (more likely free agency) they bring in a back-up for 1 year.

Delia looked good in his cup of coffee where he peaked.

Why? They could just send him to Rockford to try and work out his issues down there.

You kniow with that long line of Bowman trades and additions at goal from Forsberg (sp?) to Delia, K. Lankerien Subban (I can't even think of the rest of their names, from the start no matter the early results, I felt all were just not going to break.

But Soderblöm has got something...<-- I know I left you all an opening there.
I was so rooting for him in the last start for him to get a win, b/c it must hurt and weigh on your long term career choices.

I think I would love to see him play a game for the Isles, or Washungton, or Los Angles and see if there is a difference.
I wouldn't launch him just yet.

I doubt they win 5 more games the rest of the year.

They are 0 forever on the road since October/November

Don't worry (?). Easier schedule coming up in a week or so. 7 of first 11 games in March against CBJ, ARI, ANA and SJS.

I got off of Safari to come here.

It is as if, in the middle of typing the new next flashing side advertisment freezes my typing mid word, and until the ad "settles" i cannot type...then it happens over and over.
But doesn't happen here on Chrome.

Came here to redirect and steal the narrative back to the Draft and my Mock draft specifically as I am finishing up the descriptions in the 4th round profiles and many 5th rounders are up too.

See if you can find them anywhere else.

It does get difficult to say "something different" but as I go down the slots in 2024, I get to start adding guys with negatives and not try and polish them into anything what they are: prospects who are so young that some are not done with their journey and their improvement and I thin k that is the strength of the class - a nice group of long term guys that might/could play.

No need to launch anyone yet. Soderblom isn't holding anyone back from getting deserved NHL playing time. They don't yet have anyone who is playing so well they've earned the shot. I don't follow the draft nearly as much as you, but I wouldn't be surprised if one of the picks coming up is a goalie.

Craig Button has a new listing of players already affiliated to NHL clubs and Callum Ritchie is 6th on the list way ahead of a whole lotta playrs drafted ahead of Colorado's Ritchie, there b/c of that injury...

https://www.tsn.ca/nhl/cu...-prospects-list-1.2079455

BTW, Nazar was #35 and DelMastro was #39

I was also shocked that Detroit's Nate Danielson was no where to be found.

Button is an idiot. Michkov in 5th? He should be number 1. Ritchie is good but he couldn’t make a poor Canadian Junior team and Nazar had a strong junior tournament on a good American squad and he’s ranked at 35?

They need to make it interesting for the fan base, bring up Allan and Del Mastro for two games and play them on the third pair, just two games. Sit Megna and Tinordi for those two games. You will not ruin them in two games, give them a taste of the league and the speed, then send them back for more development.
