That would be a beauty. MN missing a 3rd rounder. How much would you attach as sweetener? Honest question. Love that drop |

Maybe Berggren and 47OA for Rossi. Idk why they are willing to shop him. |

I think that’s a great package. Berggren’s stock is on the rise in the playoffs. I love the idea. It fills a need for sure. Well done. |

Guerin doesn't prefer that type of player; small, not physical, underwhelming physical tools. Doubt Berggren is someone Guerin would prefer either. Rossi had a much improved season this year. Not a great one though. He was awful last season. |

Guerin is under pressure to get into contention in the next 1-2 years or he stands to lose Kaprizov. I think he may trade his 1st round pick this year. He should be going after someone like Necas. He’s not trading Rossi for another small forward.

Bingo. Also, the trade value of a small, unproven winger is not that high. It's not Berggren + a 3rd. To get Rossi they probably ask for Edvinsson.

If Berggren is unproven I think that makes Rossi unproven as well.
Also 47OA is a 2nd not a 3rd. I’m sure the almighty Cooleus knows that though. |

Rossi is not unproven. He was the best 5x5 player on the Wild last year. His numbers last year were depressed because his line-mates were trash. Both sides have to like the trade. That’s a no go.

Wasn’t suggesting the trade made sense for the Wild. Not going to pretend like I know what they’re looking to do.
The proven/unproven thing is more so this:
Last 2 seasons:
Berggren 79 games - 1.61 5v5 p60
Rossi 101 games - 1.51 5v5 p60
Not saying Berggren is better either.
And to be clear most of us like Berggren but he’s requested a trade because Yzerman (frank)ed up. |

I’m not demeaning Berggren. He definitely has talent. A trade like that doesn’t move the needle for the Wild. Guerin doesn’t want to trade Rossi but he’s the asset that could get the team closer to competing.
Guerin’s job probably hinges on him being able to keep Kaprizov. He’s watching the teams still playing and he knows his team has to get younger, bigger and faster.
Guerin has screwed up too. He signed 4 almost 30 and beyond bottom 6 players to multi year contracts. He’s tied his hands in signing a big FA as they come out of cap hell.

I hear you. I like Rossi. Sounds like there’s a good chance the wings just wouldn’t be good trade partners with the wild. |

NJ might trade #10 OA.....
#10 for Berggren and Wings 2nd or a class 2 prospect
A lot of good prospects around #10 |

I kinda like that offer/ Is it ambitious? YES. BUT, we're getting a stud that not only moves the needle, but spike the gauge. You were SO correct when you said we had to do something to get after the BEST ceiling...even if it means moving a "big name" prospect.....I say pull the trigger........

He had some C-19 issues early on, but he's been a fairly steady player. Would like to see him in red......there were some folks during his draft that said he's a good fit for us, as I recall......Him or Zegras would be great adds. Both have decent defensive capabilities as well.....think that's a big thing for us; gotta have the ability to play both ways......

I don’t see Zegras as a fit with Hynes as coach. Evason had success spreading talent evenly over 3 lines where he could hide weak players. When that no longer worked then Hynes came in with his top heavy lineup. Zegras would have to play on the 2nd line with the pretend wingers that Rossi had. I’d rather make a package for Necas.
Rossi is on an upward trajectory. He did everything Guerin told him he’d have to do when he was bad 2 years ago. Rossi got much stronger, went to the net and battled along the boards. It has to be frustrating that the team wants to trade you when you did everything they asked. It is what it is.
