I love what they did for this team in the past but Martin & Clutter are beyond done. They are too old and slow and make MacLean look like McDavid out there lol |

If he is going to trade for Henrique he's gotta send at least approx $3.3M+ in salary back the other way. Not a lot of options for doing that. Cizikas has no trade protection and would just about cover most of that amount but a) I don't see why the Ducks would want him and b) I'd be very surprised to see Lou move him. Someone like Wahlstrom would have to go to cover the rest.
The Isles don't have the assets to get ANA to retain significant salary on him though.
I honestly don't see it happening, I think someone on a cheap deal that wouldn't cost them a first rounder (like Duclair) would be a more realistic outcome - eichiefs9
Yep! JGP or Palms need to be moved in a Henrique deal. I really hope the team keeps the #1 pick this year. |

I don’t live in New York anymore so for me to watch games I pay for ESPN+. Why would you get center ice, and not ESPN+? All games are on ESPN+ and it’s pretty easy to use. - kindlyrick
Wasn’t aware of this. Will look into. Thanks |

I would very much like to see Martin benched for Fasching when he's ready to go, which I would assume is any game now. Love the guy and everything he's been for the Isles, but it's time. |

Clutterbuck still has some value. Not like he used to, but I don't have a problem with him in the lineup. Also that assumes they would be recalling Gauthier which has cap implications. |

I hear you, but like it or not, Lou has been known to dangle that first and maybe that retains the salary needed along with Wahlstrom ? |

Ugh
Ottawa retains 50 percent on Tarasenko in the trade with Florida.
Going to Ottawa from Florida:
2024 4th RD pick (which becomes 2026 3rd RD pick if Panthers win Cup)
2025 3rd Rd pick |

Centers are going for a big-time premium this year since there are so few good ones. Hell, the Capitals are asking for a 1st for Nic Dowd and the Flyers for Scott Laughton.
Henrique's price probably starts with a 1st and a good prospect and only goes up if they have to retain some money. |

He had a full NTC so he pretty much got to pick where he went and that probably kept the price down |

No way I give up a #1 for Henrique. I go with the current team at this point and make moves in the offseason. |

Hell (frank)ing no.
Dude is a solid forward, but that’s too much for this organization (in its current state) to justify. |

100%. I’m not even sure Henrique for JGP is a great “swap” just knowing how well JGP fits in with the current mix. Does Henrique have experience playing with Palms? Palms seems to be finding a nice groove playing with JGP and Lee. |

The big thing would be moving JGP’s contract. Henrique I think is the better offensive player. |

Henrique is playing to a 56pt pace this season and Pageau is on pace for about 34pts. Both have very similar stats at the faceoff dot as well.
He'd be an offensive upgrade and they would get out from the last two years of Pageau's deal also.
Still wouldn't do it, but there are your upsides to Henrique vs. Pageau |

With bringing Nelson up to wing, they had to bump Pageau and Casey up. If they can find a way to add Henrique, you’d be looking at the deepest the isles have been down the middle in decades. Horvat, Henrique, Pageau, Cizikas. Yes please. |

I’d do it if it cost Wahlstrom, a prospect and a 3rd, but I doubt the Ducks do that deal with retained coin. |

Islanders cannot have JGP and Henrique unless they move Palms. |

Yeah but I don't see Henrique vaulting them into contender status and I really don't want to see them use another 1st. And if Lou re-signs him, which would be highly likely, it would be an even bigger mistake. |

Depends which prospect I guess. As they say one man’s garbage is another man’s gold.
I’m done with the Wahlstrom experiment personally. |

I agree with giving up the first for Henrique. But having a hot goalie and a deep middle with plenty of vet PK and PP players is extremely intriguing in the playoffs. |

It is, and anything is possible, but it just doesn't feel like the move to me. But I have no say so we'll have to just sit back and wait until Friday afternoon I guess |
