Hi Adam: good read as usual, surprised by your dark horse. Geekie with size and the fact that he's a centre would be tough to rule out of the top 5 IMO. Who lands Wright will be interesting, hopefully not Buffalo. NHL needs to adapt the policy of not letting first overall's go to the same team consistently as has been the case for Edmonton, NJ and Buffalo recently..

Thanks for the kind words winsix. Can't see Wright going to any team other than Buff or Arizona. Eichel's situation will play a big part, but man oh man the Coyotes are epically bad on paper.

I agree that Arizona and Buffalo are likely to get Wright based on current draft rules. It is a shame though really. Highly incompetent management in both franchises. We are not talking about successful teams that have been forced to rebuild, rather teams that struggle at the gate, and managing draft assets as well. The logic to keep a team like Arizona in the league escapes me. The biggest losers in this case are Shane Wright and hockey fans.

Shane Wright is from Burlington so he not only loves the Leafs, he is willing to take 18 million a year at 28 to play for them.
