I actually like the Swayman offersheet idea that was thrown around Twitter - sbroads24
Like the idea but it wonβt happen. They arenβt going to give up assets when they feel their future is on their roster already |

First tie breaker is regulation wins.
Buffalo has 28, the Isles have 33. - Swedish_Jesus
Ah - I thought it was Regulation/Overtime wins. So yes, they need one more loss by the Islanders or Penguins to control their own fate. |

I find all.the trades and shuffling of players relevant to the current general manager
Doesn't the constant negaitive drag get old?
You and thirtysixensons complain about trades that havent happened πππ
If he was gm we would have
Kuemper
Debricat
Chryrun
All huge loser moves. He's never gonna admit it .
Just a terrible thought process.
Ottawa is behind the rink guard gm BTW. - Boss34
If you don't want to talk about how to tackle the roster this summer, that's fine. No need to drag it in a different direction only to turn around and complain about it.

The sabres are setup very nicely for the future.... look we are 8 games form the end of the year and they are still in a playoff race....everything is going to be fine. We still have some serious talent coming as well. like has been mentioned we have three areas we need to improve D, goal, and some toughness. The hardest one left to fix is D. the other two are fairly easy. most of these kids playing now are going to take another step next year...yes the future is bright. if the right trade comes alone I wouldn't be opposed to trading next years #1 for a D-man |

Loser moves, sure Boss I am glad you have a Chrystal Ball. Or maybe Cat and his 62 pts gives us that extra couple wins, or Chychrun comes in while Dahlin and Samuelsson were out and instead of losing 3 out of 4 we win a couple of those games. You keep wanting a player that's been here for 10yrs of Losing and hope he turns the vibes around. Sick of your Losing thought process |

The only thing missing from that was the rights to Justin Holl. I'd be tucking it into my waistband if he had included that mega-offer.

If this is true that is an awesome attitude. Quite the opposite of Portillo. - IndianaSabresFan
I love the attitude. I feel Portillo wanted an easy ish route to a NHL role and I hated that. So glad we got something in return for him and he is gone. I want s a goalie who wants to play against the best and be the best (Levi really sounds like that). Not saying he will be, but having the desire and drive is what we need.
Adams really has done a great job even with limited trades. Sure he has cap space and some apparent needs, but leaving the door open for prospects really seemed to pay off. Sure I wanted better results some nights, but giving them each a solid chance shows confidence in them and shows front office what they can do and how they handle it.
What a couple years. Being the youngest team in the league and having some serious top end talent coming is wild. We could be younger next season (average age) than this one, and better, is really wild!
Say Anderson and Okposo are gone and two young guys join the team, that would be like 41 years old to 21ish for a goalie exchange (Levi) and 35 to 20 year old, or 35 years younger with everyone on roster gaining a year (+19 roster spots minus the two new ones), would net a almost -1 on average age for next year. So we could get younger average. Pretty wild. |

This is as close to admittance of being wrong without saying you're wrong.
Good deflection too.
The cat 62 point season would have helped, right instead of girgensons on the 4th line.

We're a budget team last season. And probably this season.
Who thought the Sabres were gonna go and buy players?
Chryrun was/is an injury waiting to happen.

I will say I thought Ottawa was making the moves that I and a lot of fans wanted to make. Got a scorer in Debrincat, got Chychrun, I didn't want Giroux as much but still thought that was a decent move. I really thought they would be a bit better than they are and better than we are. Instead, looking at the two teams they're pretty close in the standings and the Sabres may have more growth upside based on the number of prospects and picks they still have. Albeit, I don't pretend to know Ottawa's farm system very well. Maybe not making the moves was the right move, or maybe one move does get us 4 more points and we're in a better spot, who knows. |

Petersen didn't want to face off vs Ullmark and Portillo didn't want to face off against Levi. They didn't have the killer instinct to compete against them and I think they knew the org favored Ullmark and Levi.
And Levi is a borderline psychopath

I was made we lost Petersen (at the time) and look, he got a new contract and sucks, was waived and no one took him. I want the guy with the drive to compete and be the best, even if he costs more.
Adams seems to get that and Iβm so happy. Not trying to trade for the flavor of the month without thinking of the future. He also seems to have a good evaluation of people and seeing through what they say and watching their actions, to determine how bad they want to be better.
I do feel with what prospects are coming, he might be forced to make a larger trade this summer, but if it nets another proven top end player, letβs go! |

Boss always brings up the injury, but doesn't say it happened on a slew foot by Hedman. He acts like the guy was skating down the ice and pulled a groin muscle. |
