You know... those 2 games in hand are still huge. I personally dont necessarily think the playoffs are dead for the Sabres yet. I have seen stranger things happrn... - rapperray
They need to take advantage of there opportunities. They have gotten a lot of help just to still be alive in the playoff picture. |

No they don't, especially if other teams continue to struggle. But they definitely need to win 4 of the last 6. I would be wholeheartedly surprised if they snuck in, but nobody seems to want to slam the door on them. |

NFL Network recently presented a mock trade that would involve multiple draft picks, but would hypothetically end with Hopkins in a Bills uniform.
Here's the trade:
Bills receive:
- WR DeAndre Hopkins
- 2023 No. 3 overall pick
Cardinals receive:
- DE Greg Rousseau
- 2023 No. 27 overall pick
- 2023 No. 59 overall pick
- 2024 First-Round Pick
-2024 Second-Round Pick
If the Bills want to go all in for a Super Bowl this season - which is essentially the expectation in Buffalo - than this deal is definitely one that general manager Brandon Beane would have to at least consider.
With the No. 3 pick. the Bills could target a defensive star like Alabama linebacker Will Anderson Jr. and add him to a defense that already features Von Miller and Matt Milano. Who better for the rookie to learn from than those two?
And adding Hopkins speaks for itself. - homiedclown
This is making the rounds now, even Newsweek had a little snippet on it. |

4 of their last 6 only gets them to 89 points, if neither of the two other games go to OT.
You think 89 points would get them in, especially with the tiebreakers? |

It doesn’t.
If every team in front of them goes 2-2 that’s 90-91 points.
Sabres need to win 5 just to get to 91. Hence they need to go undefeated.
Edit - I’m “slamming the door on them” |

No, but it gets them into a spot. I didn't expect them to still even be here how the last month has been. The teams in front of them have struggled just as much or more, it's be a weird end of the season. |

It gets them past the Islanders Panthers Penguins if they get help like I said. As weird as the last month has been, Buffalo could get on a roll and all those teams could go on a losing streak just as easy. Does it happen, Probably Not, but it's been a weird month. |

If the Islanders and Panthers only win one of their remaining games, and none of their other games go to OT, and the Sabres win 4 of their remaining games (in regulation) and the other 2 games are regulation losses, they lose the tiebreaker to both the Islanders and the Panthers, as both have significantly more regulation wins.
4 wins won't do it, unless you think one of the Islanders or Panthers lose out, and lose out in regulation.
Here's a fun way to look at it: What do you think the Sabres record will be after the 3 game gauntlet of the Hurricanes, Rangers and Devils? |

Just an opinion, but going young goalie / younger goalie seems a bit off base IMO. UPL/LEVI
I appreciate the stats, and the Sabres play a wide open game.
Maybe they go unorthodox and keep comrie in Rochester.
Next year feels like a "time to win year".
Do we really have time or even need upl to be a good professional as an organization?
2 games of Levi is a small sample size, but it's his job IMO. 50+ games
So the Sabres are looking for a 30 game 1B vet to help him out outside the rink and around the game itself.
Provide some good insurance if levi struggles. - Boss34
I can get the first part, but that's kind of what we're doing with the rest of the team, why not for goalie? IMO if we're okay with Savoie, Kulich, Rousek and RyJo being here next year but shy away from a 24/22 yo goalie tandem, we're kind of being hypocritical.
UPL started 33 games this year and had poor backup numbers on a horridly bad team in terms of defense and shots allowed. I just don't think it's crazy to think he could be a .910+ this time next year with a bit better support. |

You now 39 I couldn't tell you, I said 4 because it gets them a spot with help. They could lose them all or they could win them all just like every other team. |

Is this Carter Hart vs Varlamov?
I’d go for Hart and I’d try to pry Sanheim or Noah Cates with him - sbroads24
UPL vs Varlamov
Just trying to do some comparisons against names that are being thrown out. I'd go with UPL too.
I love Noah Cates' game. Doubt they'd part with him, but exactly what we could use in the top9. Can play anywhere. |

Sabres have a like a 8% chance of making the Playoffs. In order to make it they would at a MIN go 5-1 and pray that Florida, islanders & Pitts go 2-2, tall order for sure but if there is a chance I'm watching.
Very very slim though.

I’ve only been leading the charge to acquire a real goalie, top 6 forward or top 4 d-man but sure. |

It is, Sabres shouldn't even be in the spot they are if the Islanders Panthers Penguins hadnt been as inconsistent as they have been the last month. |

Well it was a little to late but they finally have a goalie...... With all the talent we have in the pipeline I would not be surprised if they trade away some picks and a player like Mitts, OLO, Skinner for defensive help.

This is very good. Got me thinking 👍
Just feels like a double young tendem in net, is another playoff miss IMO.
Sabres management seems to like the "veteran" presence. Okposo and girgensons bring little but, veteran leadership.
Especially with the intangible of 1 rookie goalie, feels like they add a steady 1B, if times get tough for levi.
Very interesting topic 🤝

Kinda what I mean, we sh!t the bed on are chances, these other teams really could have pulled away from us, but they haven't because they have been just as inconsistent. |

Plus: levi may not have signed, if we blocked his path to the nhl.
KA made the right move, trading, leaving a spot open, having a fun season for the fans and signing levi.
