We all know though that the kids line isn’t staying together forever. Eventually it will get switched around again. Just make sure you have 9 really good forwards - sbroads24
It's why there was no need to rush a trade this trade deadline. See what you got, be a for sure playoff team next year and we have trade chips or cheap replacements coming through the pipeline for years.
I agree with 2 and 3 (and for 3, I think we need two new dmen unless johnson is the real deal). As for 1, not sure rhe hate for Mittelstadt, he's been our best forward over the last month or so, including 2 assists last night. He may be part of Adam's perceived core?? - turbo044
You keep
Dahlin/sammy together
Power/trade
Johnson/boosh
Trade victor, Rosen, joker, any of the Russians for a for sure #3 D to pair with power. All of a sudden you have a great D core
If the Sabres stay in house next year other than say bring in Frederick Anderson G for Levi.
Skinner Tage Tuch
Kulich Cozens Quinn
Mitts Savoie JJ- Mitts and Savoie can flip flop when needed.
Jost Krebs Rousek
Samuelsson Dahlin
Johnson Power - They can flip sides when Needed
Lyubushkin Joker- This pair could change with a Olofsson + trade for a Dman - Buff36
Does Levi start Tonight ? He's here cause you think he has the what it takes, and we don't play again until Tuesday. Do you Ride your "Golden Child". I would as long as he feels it, kid seems to like pressure.

I think he should play; granato/adams will absolutely not play him. I'm resigned to another UPL 4+ goal performance tonight. Hope we score one more than he allows
Wishful thinking, Adams has made it clear growth will be coming from within the organization for the next 12-18 months, not from a trade or signing. Peterka or Greenway will be in the 2W spot, assuming Donnie can unlock Greenway like they seem to think he can. One of the 4 1sts might be up to take a spot but I wouldn't expect more than one of them since next year is a bigger push year.

Where is Greenway? Can't imagine they give up on him so quickly after trading for him.
Kulich might need to have a great training camp to get on the roster since he has the ability to go to Rochester easily and Savoie doesn't.

*Moving on from 28, 21, 71
Dahlin(A)-Samuelson
Power-Free agent/trade*
Johnson-Lyubushkin
Stillman
* This is the only real spot I think they target in the off-season. Unlike forwards there's no backlog and will need to move a guy like Olofsson anyways, makes sense that they make a move here
Levi
Comrie*
* Wouldn't expect them to move Comrie after bringing him in last off-season, but from everything I've heard I can see them shipping off UPL.
Biggest determination of how they do will be their kids growth obviously. Bulking up, committing to learning, and committing to playing the right way. Donnie also needs to make sure his system allows for defensive play top to bottom, he will need to grow as well. Levi just needs to get used to the speed of the NHL and absorb more rebounds, but that's something he will learn over time and practice.

It's what I would like to see, most likely Kulich or Savoie aren't here and Greenway is on the 3rd line.

I think Savoie's up just because what is he going to do in the CHL? There's only so much you can do beating up on kids, eventually you need to move up a level. Might sit in the press box at times but being up and being at practice with the Sabres coaches will still be good for him.
Preseason is going to be interesting to watch, that's when we'll see how all these unknowns actually look

Not bad, very good analogy. I don't trust Samuelsson at this point. That Top 4 you look to grab needs to be able to handle 23-25 minutes a night just in case. IMO
If you look back at the 2017 draft when Mittelstadt was draft there are only a few players doing better than Mittelstadt and only one maybe two ithat would have been drafted in the 8 spot. Necas and Suzuki and I think only Necas was predicted top 10.
Hindsight is 20/20 but it wasn't a bad pick. - sabresfan69
Rumour was the scouts wanted Necas and Botts went with Mitts.
Jeff Marek brought it up in a podcast some time ago.
Mitts is turning it around at the right time though.
