Zemgus is incredible, obviously. He has a deep love and passion for the Sabres and Sabres organization. He’s put in so much work over the years. Everything matters to him – everything. ... He entered the league young and he learned a lot, so you see a very experienced guy as a result.” - Boss34

That's because Krebs is a former 17th overall pick while Zemgus is only a former...oh wait. |

I think a large difference here is no one is begging for Girgensons to get more ice time and the bestests linemates eva to determine if he a viable 3rd liner |

I thought you stopped watching the games?
As a season ticket holder, I don’t feel shorted by Girgensons effort. He consistently plays a fast game and battles in the trenches .
Clearly his lack of scoring is a huge negative to his overall game - Boss34
I have. Caught the 1st period Sunday night...nothing changed. He still sucks.
Are you saying he got better since Janauary? Lol, no I didn't think so. He's only getting worse. |

First guess is they were losing power off and on, and the steering went as a result. |

As the season inches closer to its end, the Buffalo Sabres are facing the hard truth of possibly missing the playoffs, a reality that weighs heavily on the team and its dedicated base. In the thick of this challenging time, Zemgus Girgensons, a steadfast figure in the Sabres’ locker room, has made a commitment to help steer the team away from consecutive losses and ignite a spark of hope. This story unfolds as the Sabres navigate the choppy waters of the NHL, with leadership on and off the ice, strategic player movements, and a glimpse into the future with rising stars.
Girgensons, having been with the Sabres through thick and thin, elected to return this season with a mission in mind: to help the team skirt the kind of losing streaks that can demoralize a squad. His decision underscores not just his loyalty to the franchise but also his belief in the team’s potential. Despite the Sabres standing seven points behind the Detroit Red Wings for the coveted second wild-card spot, Girgensons holds on to hope, a testament to his resilience and character.
However, Girgensons hasn’t shied away from expressing his disappointment regarding the team’s current standing and the gap between expectations and reality. This season has been a tough pill to swallow for the Latvian forward, who envisioned a different trajectory for his team. Yet, in the face of adversity, Girgensons has stepped up both in the locker room and on the ice, demonstrating the kind of leadership that keeps a team united during challenging periods.
Acknowledging his impact and value, the Sabres have plans to keep Girgensons for an 11th season, a move that emphasizes the organization’s trust in his ability to contribute significantly to the team’s fabric and performance. As veterans like Girgensons continue to hold the line, the Sabres are also looking towards the future, giving opportunities to younger talents to shine.
Rookie winger Zach Benson, for example, recently had the chance to play in front of his family and friends in Western Canada, a momentous occasion in the young player’s budding career. Meanwhile, the Sabres made a strategic move by assigning Anton Wahlberg to the Rochester Americans, aiming for a strong push in the AHL playoffs, a decision that signifies the franchise’s depth and its focus on developing players for the long haul.
Looking ahead to the next season, Lukas Rousek’s excitement for the Sabres’ season opener in Prague is palpable. This international exposure reflects not just on Rousek’s personal journey but also on the team’s global appeal and the international nature of the sport.
Additionally, the organization keeps a keen eye on prospects, with Matt Savoie’s performance with the Moose Jaw Warriors generating buzz. Savoie’s impressive stint in the juniors points to the potential influx of talent that could invigorate the Sabres in the coming years.
In sum, the Buffalo Sabres find themselves at a crossroads, with seasoned players like Girgensons leading the charge and emerging talents paving the way for a brighter future. The blend of experience, leadership, and youthful exuberance may just be the formula the Sabres need to navigate their current challenges and lay a solid foundation for success in the seasons to come.

I think it's less of that and more of excusing low production when paired with Girgensons, Okposo, Olo or Robinson. When you play with those guys, you either score on your own, or you get no points. |

Why didn't they have a Tug Boat as a precaution is a big question as well.
The ramifications of this accident are mind boggling on many fronts... Economically with a $80B port Shut down for a time, lives lost, transportation for many many years, etc epic proportions. |

It is hilarious that the organization can look square in the eye of 13 years of sheer failure, being the absolute laughing stock of the league, watch players throw the middle finger at the fans, choke under pressure and the one thing the GM wants out there is "We just have to get Gus back".
